Serenity part. 2

“I'm glad to meet you again, Lara, and welcome back. King Knight, nice to see you, too.” Alpha Markus came to greet us. His outfit is not very professional, but simple. If I am thinking better, our clothing is quite stylish for a business meeting, but not exaggerated. Caleb wears black jeans with a white blouse just like johnny and I only wear dark blue skinny jeans, a silver shirt with a red stripe on each sleeve, and low-heeled shoes. You never know if I must step on someone's head. I would not prefer my heel stuck. Just kidding.

“Thanks for letting us know about Serenity, and for the invitation. I hope no one finds out about us being here. This is Johnny, my Beta, and of course, I felt it would be better not to go anywhere without someone to protect our backs. Some warriors are staying close to the territory.” Caleb shook Markus's hand, using a confident and strong tone.

“Lara, you've become a woman now, and not only that, but you are also a queen. I did not know you came today. Markus told me nothing about it. King Caleb, nice to see you again.” Serenity said, and she hugged me… how could I forget her angel voice? She wears a white suit and high heels, and she is beautiful as before.

I did not speak, but I signaled we were going to the office, and I walked over without waiting for an answer from them because I remember where my father's office was.

With tears in my eyes, I hugged her and then let go of my frustration.

“I'm glad to see you, Serenity. We came only so I can meet you. I found out you are here, and after so many years, I consider talking about what happened to my dad. Alpha Markus will be present because I need to be certain no one lies. If you wonder… for five years, I thought you were dead, just like my parents. I realize you are not my mother, but you were my family, so why didn't you look after me? You let me assume I was all alone, as Alpha Markus let me believe. You were close to my father, and yet, you did not s**t to relieve my suffering. I heard of Markus's reason. Now I want to hear yours and what the hell took place years ago. And what role you had in all this because I think for sure that you were part of the f****d-up plan of my fathers, but I am not convinced if you were for the positive side either. So please tell me… I'm eagerly awaiting to find out everything, especially about the golden power, too.”

I do not know if I am nicely going to start a discussion like this right now, but these secrets have ruined my life, and her smell has changed… or maybe I forgot what it was like. Caleb says nothing, takes a seat on the couch, and just waits to get answers as much as I do. Johnny is leaning against the door with his first hand at the chest. Serenity swallows hard and then sits down on a chair near the desk on the opposite side of Mathias. If you wonder where I sit or what I am doing apart from the fact that I order my questions to be answered… Well, I walk like a hen back and forth.

“When I met Matthias, as you acknowledge, being the second chance, I was already in love with someone else. It drew me to your father, and I intrigued him, but something was false. He loved your genuine mother so much that he did not heal and to be honest, I tried neither. I agreed to be with him just to balance the golden power. We did not realize what would cause this rejection until someone ambushed us. The fact that I denied him, it must be kept secret and to go back to my chosen one when matters were better. We cared for each other in our way, but we did not develop into soul mates… He felt the darkness spread inside him, and we realized it was too late. The day I rejected him, they attacked us for this reason. He had come weak at that moment, but I did not want that to happen. I was stuck in the middle and made incorrect choices. To stay with him and forget about my lover was the best thing to do, but I didn't do it. He requested to die, and I did not predict that. No one did. He said he just wanted his Alpha name, but things have taken a turn for the worse. Matthias ordered Markus to execute him after he announced that he wanted to transfer the title of Alpha to him. This is the only alternative he can become Alpha until you, Lara, grow up and be able to accept the name back by killing no one. Matthias made plans and divulged no one about it. He somehow knew something was going to take place, and he used the power of true blood to order Markus not to tell him anything and to respect his last wish. Taking care of his daughter and the pack at any cost.” Serenity told me her part of the story, shedding a few tears.

Markus still cannot reveal what happened because my father ordered him as his good friend and his Alpha to be the one to kill him and keep it a secret. Some things seem to be the same as Markus' version. She knew what she needed to do, but she did not demand my dad to die, but she wanted to take his position… hmm. To be honest, it does not sound like that to me.

“Are you trying to tell me that someone provoked the attack, you know, and you didn't have the honor of informing us? When the King asks about what happened, you could not reveal everything about those crimes. Ah! What can I expect from someone mated with the biggest killer?” Johnny interrogates her.

“What the hell do you mean, killer?” Serenity becomes a little agitated, but appears to be shocked, as if she did not know who Goliath was. Playing well.

“Don't pretend you don't recognize the name. You came here to order Markus to give up the title of Alpha, to that Goliath killer.” Johnny keeps his tone calm, as if talking about the weather, but I notice he is upset that Serenity is trying to hide something. And I think he is right. Many things are wrong about all this s**t.

“What has Goliath got to do with what happened in the past?” Serenity asks with raised eyebrows.

“You tell us.” I responded.

“Who is this He that you keep talking about?” Caleb asks her.

“My mate, Dominic Moonlight.” Serenity drops the bomb.

“How the hell did you bury him this whole time? I thought Dominic was dead.” Johnny asks this time.

“He didn't hide, he just stayed in the shadows. Despite everything that happened, Dominic loved Matthias. They were best friends. Once, when he found his true soul mate, Matthias asked him to be the Beta of the Bluestone pack. He refused and moved to the city far away, and one day he returned with his son but without her. Then we met and fell in love. I tried to take care of Sammy, but he put me aside until I felt it would be better not to try again. When I came here, after a while Sammy arrived too, but he did not say a word to me. He was always with Matthias or Lara… with his Lala. He never told me his reasons for bringing Sammy here and how his mate died. Not only that, but he left and did not return for two years, and when he did, it revived our love.”

“You mean you fell in love with my dad's brother, Alpha of fire? You are showing to help my father to harmonize the elements, but you came to destroy everything. You agreed to have his son brought into our family and take care of him, but you did not. Tell me if I'm wrong.” I looked into her eyes and waited for her to say it was not true, or at least part of what I thought was happening. But Serenity puts her head on the ground and sighs.

“Dominic was dealing with your father's death. He was not supposed to attack. We wanted to conquer this pack for power and money, but more smartly. But now Goliath threatened my family, and he made Dominic say everything about you as the Golden White Wolf. Goliath already stole Dominic's powers, and now he wants yours. I had no choice. Now, please let me breathe without burning my throat. This is the truth.” Serenity begs.

“Oops! I did not realize I was too focused to understand what you were informing me. So, you planned everything, but things took an ugly turn? So, eliminating somehow my father is what? A! You said, smart? Do you just think by telling me that when they attacked us five years ago, something went against your plans, and now you have stepped into s**t again? Don't you see? When you want something that does not belong to you, all goes to hell?”

“I wished the best for this pack, I'm not a killer and I just wanted to do the right thing.” Serenity scream.

“Come with us because you confessed about taking part in a crime, and we will not release you until we find out what your connection is with Goliath. You have information about someone who will attack the castle soon. Try to kidnap the queen, and by extracting her powers, kill her too. You know how he will continue and when… And we will investigate and save your family, but you don't deserve freedom.” Caleb entered the conversation, putting his hand on my shoulder, and gestured for me to watch my body. Golden waves dance on my skin and then move to Caleb when he touches me. Nice to see, but dangerous to touch for those who want it.

“At last, the truth came out.” Johnny bubbles and nods for Serenity to go with him.
