CHAPTER 17

Jo's POV

I've been avoiding Daimen since this morning and it felt kind of awkward facing him so I sent Lily to do everything. After my conclusion that I might actually like him if I keep staying close to him and having this flight and yes I concluded that I don't like him 'yet',just like Tina said if I stay close my heart might start playing tricks on me .

Avoiding him was going well but it was time for the meeting my company's meeting leejo and I can't miss that cause it's my first ever meeting to attend not as the CEO obviously but just as an assistant of my client,anyway still counts. At least I don't have to listen to Brad summarising the meeting in a longer version .

I took my note book and pen and headed to Daimen's office since it was already time and he was not yet out of his office,I knocked twice like always but no reply I tried once again but still no reply which got me worried,wait a damn minute why am I worried he is a grown man I'm sure he is just out I reasoned but again what if he is hurting himself like this morning were the things going through my mind as I stood at his door for about half a minute.

I'll just ask Lily maybe he is out ,"hey Lily has me black gone out?"I asked in a normal tone . "No he had not ,"she said and I just nodded before I could leave she smirked at me "since when did you start calling your boyfriend Mr Black?"her smirk grew wider i just smiled at her rolling my eyes and walked away ,"you guys are so cute," she said as I walked in Daimen's office not to find him there and my worry started again until I heard a groan in the bathroom "Mr Black, Daimen are you okay,"I asked and he walked out looking fine and I released a breath I did not know I was holding.

"Mr Bank is here they are waiting for you," and with those few words I rushed out before he could say anything else and waited for him outside. He came after some few minutes and w left for the meeting finding everyone settled Brad sitting at the corner with his assistant. Daimen and I sat at the seat across to Brad and I sat next to him.

The meeting took nearly two hours and I was so hungry and I was glad when Brad said we'll continue with the meeting next week,that's my brother he knows me best . I was second to leave the meeting room after Daimen and Brad followed.

"Hey are you not gonna say thank you I know you were starving,"he said elbowing me lightly on my hand ,"I'll say thank you if you buy me lunch,"I smiled at him ,"how about you have lunch with me and Tina,"

"She talked to you?"

"She said she'll only have lunch with me if you come along,"he said a bit sad

"Yeah I'll come ,"

"I think she is avoiding being with me all alone,"

"I'm sure whatever it is she is going through you'll be fine ok,"

" Thank you best sister ever ,"he said in my ear as he hugged me ,

"Don't let Riley hear that," I also whispered softly and we both laughed

"I won't，”

Our hug wa broken by someone clearing his throat and we turn to see Daimen. "Hey ,wanna join us for lunch?"Brad asked and I gave him a death glare

"Yeah sure why not ,"he answered. Why aren't you busy today I thought walking away and they followed me closely.

Lunch was going smoothly ,looks like Brad and Tina are okay but Tina still looks tensed but I will not push she'll do it when she is ready. On the other hand Daimen and I just kept stealing glances at each other after every few minutes,"I can feel the tension what happened between you two," Tina decided to break the silence "nothing!"Daimen and I responded in unison as we glared at each other.

"There is definitely something,"Brad whispered loud enough for the both of us to hear ,"shut it Brad ,"we again said in unison and we are our lunch in silence.

It seemed like lunch hour was longer than I actually wanted ,Brad and Tina were all lovey dovey on each other which left Daimen and I looking at each other in an awkward silence but finally Tina thought to break it,"excuse me I'm going to the bathroom and she is coming with me ," she said holding my hand sternly and pulling me "why do I have to come ?" I asked but she didn't stop pulling me. We got to the bathroom and she closed the door,"spill the tea what happened between you and Daimen,"

"Nothing why do you assume it's something,"

"Are you sure it's not because he kissed a girl on your date?" She asked again,so annoying why do I have such a best friend I groaned,"no it's not stop assuming,"

"Ooh fast answer now I'm sure it's that," she smiled "uugh leave me alone,"I said walking out ,"hey where are you going?"

"To the office"I replied leaving the bathroom her following me close by . I took my phone and said bye to everyone and left before they could say a word. "What has been happening to her?"I heard before I left and went back to the office building.

I got in the elevator and hit the top floor and just as it was closing a hand slip through the tiny opening remaining and I just closed my eyes and crossed my fingers hoping it's not Daimen ,cause I'm not ready to spend a whole two minutes with him in the elevator. The door opened and I just closed my eyes harder ,

"Hi!"
