CHAPTER 16

Daimen's POV

I was still standing outside Jo's office it has been 10 minutes since I left and to say I've been guilty the whole 10 minutes,I don't know why I'm still trying to figure it out . I riffle my hair as I stood taking a deep sigh and looked at her door one last time then closing my eyes I turn to leave .

"Good morning Mr Black,"came Ms Williams voice just before I left but when I turned to her her face dropped she seemed afraid and with no other word she dashed into Jo's office.

"What did you do to Me black he is back,"ms Williams said

"What do you mean he is back?"I heard her voice and with that I just walked away into my office feeling disappointed and guilty.

Why am I angry at myself,it's not like I like her or anything it's just a stupid deal "uugh why ,why why,"I said as I slammed my head lightly on my door why am I like this and to make matters worse my inner self decided to intervene, are you sure you don't like her ,this thing is not only for the deal you are a playboy leaving her would not have ruined your reputation so what's the main rea..and with that I could bare it any more I just slammed my fist on the vase next to my desk shattering it into pieces and I continued hitting the table .

Although my fist was already bloody I still didn't care and I hit the desk once again but before I could hit it again a warm small hand that gave me tingles caught my wrist and I turn to see her looking worried.

"What the hell were you thinking?"she scolded as she came out of the bathroom with a first aid box in hand , I just looked at her as she sat down on the coach next to me holding my bloody hands .

She removes the tiny glass pieces slowly and I wince a little "sorry does that hurt alot,I'll be gentle," she again said worried, "so you care about me,"I teased her as a smirk formed on my lips but she didn't take it lightly in return she pressed the antiseptic covered on my wound making me yelp and she laughed making me laugh then our eyes met for about some seconds and she pulled away from them and I felt guilty , she is angry.

"Jo I'm sorry,"I said as I turned my head away from her

"Why are you saying sorry,"

"Last night I didn't..."

"You don't have to explain anything to me I am your contract girlfriend,it's okay,"she said as her eyes turned away from me wrapping a bandage on my hand.

We stayed in an uncomfortable silence and when she was done she took the first aid kit back to the bathroom then went to the supply closet and took out a broom.

"You don't have to do that the workers can do it,"

"No it's okay I was once a janitor so it doesn't matter" she answered and silently finished cleaning up .

"So I sent your schedule and you have a meeting with Bradley Bank representative of the leejo industry three hours from now ," she said and turning to the door as her steps grew further away from me I felt like I have not really apologized to her she is avoiding the subject because maybe it hurt her and I need to fix this I thought but my brain again came up with it's conclusion and I had my second thought ' you can't fall in love with her it's part of the deal' I know but not cheating was also part of the deal but by the time I was making up my mind to apologise it was too late she was out of the office.

So it's been a long 2 hours ,my mind kept drifting off to her as I tried to work she hasn't come to my office since this morning. My coffee was delivered by me Williams together with some documents I needed to sign when I asked her where Jo was all she told was that she is busy.

Now she is avoiding me I covered my face with my palm in frustration "why why wh.."I mummered but I stopped once my phone started to vibrate on my desk at first I wanted to throw it out but when I saw the caller I picked up the call .

"Detective Harry ,how is the search ?"I asked once I answered.

"It's going fine and I have some good news,"

"What is it Harry?"I asked eager to hear it

"We have contacted some people and they gave some information on him one is that he is back in town that I'm sure of and ,"he paused and I just nodded although he couldn't see me he proceeded

"He has a very close relationship with the banks because you can't trust anyone enough to do the meetings for you so my thoughts was to visit them and see if there is anyone who can be a suspect,"he finished and I again just nodded .

"Ok thank you Harry I'll do it keep on searching for him,ok have a nice day,"I said as I cut the call .

I can't actually believe it I forgot about my mission to find Leejo's ceo been it I've been quite distracted since Jo came and this has never happened to me not even with Madi it has always been work on my mind first but now Jo is occupying every single part of my mind what is happening to me I shuffled my hair and walked to the bathroom sink wetting my face and looking at myself at the mirror I look like

a mess right now . I wiped my face and her voice came from my office,

"Mr Black, Daimen are you okay,"and with that I composed myself walking out of the bathroom.

"Mr Bank is already here they are waiting for you,"she said and hastily walked out of the room . She is still ignoring me but I'm gonna make it up to you ' I promise'
