CHAPTER 19

Jo's POV

Saturday came faster than I wanted it to, luckily it was only morning. I had nothing much to do with the company do I decided to work from home "Jo I don't feel so good,"Tina said as she walked in the living room where I sat with my laptop and some files ,"morning sickness?"I asked and she just nodded and yes this is the other reason I'm working in my living room. She still hasn't decided whether to tell Brad or not so she decided to stay with me to keep her secret until she is ready good thing Brad left for a business trip so she didn't have much to explain

Yesterday we went to the doctor,turns out she is already six weeks pregnant. She slumped herself on the coach and leaned on my shoulder,"I am tired and hungry,"she stated giving me her puppy dog eyes"okay ,you've been eating alot lately,"

"Are you saying I'm fat," she said her eyes tearing up"no no don't cry ,"I said shushing her damn the hormones"I made breakfast let's go and eat," I said to her and she smiled heading to the kitchen. Hope she tells Brad soon I'm not ready to handle the weird late night cravings I thought and shook my head following her .

"I didn't think you were going out today," I said to Tina as she looked for her keys all dressed up ,"yeah I have a wedding dress to finish I'll be at the office," she said "okay and your keys are on the kitchen counter," I said and she picked them up "thank you and don't over work yourself okay," she said pointing her keys at me " okay drive safe and if I don't come back early today there will be some dinner in the fridge,no ordering take outs okay," I said to her and she nodded "have fun with Daimen's mum bye," she said leaving before I could answer.

Its about 12 noon meaning I've been working for about 4 hours ,I stretched my back and yawned"I'm so tired ," I muttered under my breath , finally I'm done with work I should reward myself with a meal and maybe I can take some for my pregnant best friend. I let my food simmer on the stove as I continued with some work I had to finish when my phone rang from the kitchen,I walked back not even looking at the I'd caller I answered my phone.

"Hey sweetie," I heard from the other line a highly recognisable voice

"Dad hey ,when did you come back?"

"This morning, anyway I didn't call you for that,"he said and I just nodded my head although he couldn't see me he continued

"The company has been facing some difficulty and I don't think I can handle it all alone Brad is on a business trip and your mother has been busy with her work and you are the only one I can ask at the moment," he explained briefly and I once again nodded ,"it's okay I'll be there in an hour ,"

"Okay thank you sweetie ,"

"It's okay dad I'll be leaving now," I said hanging up and packed the food and left for Leys design.

I entered the building walked straight towards Tina's office only to be stopped by a lady I think 3 inches taller than me with long blonde hair wearing a black skirt suit and heels . "Excuse me ma'am but miss Logan is busy you can't go in there," she said "ooh okay can you give her this," I said searching through the bag ,but before I could find it a chirpy voice came ,"Jo hey!what are you doing here?"

"I thought you were busy?"

"I'm never busy to see my best friend,"

"Ivy when she comes let her in immediately okay," she said to her assistant and she just nodded and went away. "Is mum and auntie here ,I also brought them some food heard you guys were busy,"

"Thank you I'm starving and yes they are ,"

"Take this to them I have to go and see dad ,"

"Okay bye be careful,"she said waving as I walked away and I waved back.

I arrived at my dad's office,not so many people are here today since it's a weekend so I don't have to be sneaking to much ,I arrived at my dad's office floor to find the whole floor quiet and empty ,I entered his office and it didn't look like he heard me ,his concentration was on the files he had infront of him .

"Dad I'm here "

"Hey sweetie I didn't see you there sorry ,"

"Dad take a break eat something I'll handle it from here," I said and pulled him up gently from his chair onto the sofa and placed the food in front of him as I went back to his chair removing my laptop and I started working.

After about two hours my dad and I sat as I explained to him the strategy for solving the problem and how to ensure it wasn't going to happen again.

"So I'll sort this out with the finance team then we'll be okay ," I said"I'm so glad I have a smart and talented daughter," he said smiling at me and I smiled back"I'm the lucky one to have you," I said and it was true he was the most supportive person I've had in my life and I don't know where I would have been .

"I'll go drop this at the finance department office and then I'll be right back ," I said walking out of the office.

Authors POV

Jo went down the hall to the finance manager's office at the same time Daimen walked out of the elevator ,he had some business to finish with him so he decided to go there personally. He walked out straightening his blue suit jacket and walked elegantly to Mr Banks door knocking twice before a voice came telling him to come in . He walked in and greeted Mr Banks and he didn't miss the surprise on his face . "Mr Black what is with the unexpected visit today?"Mr Banks asked scared for his daughter's secret which might be revealed but hid it very well . Daimen sat down on the coach ready to speak to Mr Banks but he stopped when an oddly familiar laptop caught his eye then it hit him Jo's laptop I've seen it a couple of times at her house .

"Is that Jo's laptop ," Daimen said taking a closer look and at that moment Jo walked in and their gazes locked...
