Primrose

Introduction. Hello Everyone!  This is my first book on  dreame, it's an interesting drama that I would love to share with my readers. It's such a beautiful feeling for an author to be able to share the things he/she can create in his/her mind. You are all welcome to read and enjoy! Feel free to criticize and to comment. I believe that your opinions matter to help me improve as an author and to make better works for my readers! IT BEGINS. If perfectly happy families really exist, the Duncan’s family was among. They came from a long and exciting trip outside the country. They arrived at the airport in the afternoon, the driver went to pick them up and they were heading back home joyfully bringing up memories of the island they were just from. On arriving home, they took a rest but at night they sat at the dining table together for dinner. “You guys are still tired?” Cassie asked her children who were putting on tiresome faces so that they could get an excuse for not attending school on the next day. “Yes" Primrose and David replied in unison. “Oh my God just look at how lazy these children are." Duncan commented with a less serious face. “Really dad." Primrose added. “No darlings nobody has got an excuse for not attending school tomorrow." Cassie said. “But mom..." David tried to oppose. “David you are just in junior school and you are this bored about school?” Duncan asked. “It’s not like am bored." David tried to defend himself. They continued eating and conversing until dinner was over. They all went to sleep. Early in the morning Duncan and his wife left for work and the children went to school leaving nanny Ruth and two other maids at home. Primrose was in senior school and almost completing her senior school studies at her late teen (she was 18 years old) David was 13 years old. When Primrose arrived in school she went in class and after classes her two best friends followed her. “So which place did you go this time?” Rose asked. “It was such a beautiful island Rose you can’t believe it!” Primrose replied joyfully. “You tell us everything about there, are there cute boys?” Diana asked. “Oh here we go again with Diana, can’t you think of other things apart from that?” Rose asked. “It’s important for me to find out." Diana said with a smile and eager in her eyes. “Okay enough you two let’s go for lunch and I will tell you everything there, come on." Primrose held her two best friends and they headed to the school canteen for lunch. Duncan was in his office and suddenly the door was opened. He got surprised because he wasn’t expecting any guest at that moment but on looking on who got in he saw his beautiful wife. “What a pleasant surprise” Duncan said as he slightly smiled. “Yeah it is really a surprise I was not also expecting to be here at this moment” Cassie said and went close to her husband and kissed him on the cheek. “You seem to be in a hurry honey where are you planning to go?” Duncan asked. “I want to go and check the plantations today we haven’t checked there for a while now." Cassie said. “Well alright so you came to…” Duncan said but Cassie interrupted: “To borrow your car, mine needs some service it might fail me on the road you know am going on a high way” Cassie said. “Alright honey” Duncan said and they switched the car keys.  Cassie left soon enough and headed to her destination. Martin and Gerry were in the car, they were dressed in black clothes and black glasses. “John Duncan will eventually die today boss can’t we just leave this city already?” Gerry asked. “I won’t leave this city until I make sure that bastard John is buried” Martin said. “Is it the only reason or is it because you still haven’t seen Cassie?” Gerry asked. Martin looked at Gerry angrily and Gerry said in a low voice “Am sorry boss." “And you? Why are you in such a hurry to go back to Montes? Is it because of those harlots?” Martin asked but Gerry was silent and didn’t say a thing. Duncan arrived home at around 10 pm. Primrose embraced her dad. “How are you princess?” John Duncan asked. “Fine dad I see you had a long day today." Primrose said. “Of course honey, by the way is your mom back?” John asked. “No, and I was wondering why she could be late." Primrose said. Duncan took his phone and called Cassie, when he was dialing he said “But she went to the plantations don’t worry I think she will be arriving soon let me ask her where she is by now." The number was not available. Primrose and her dad looked at each other kind of worriedly. “Oh the plantations? Her phone must have run out of battery” Primrose said “Anyway dad come on let’s go eat its dinner time, you have to eat." She added. “Of course you are right let us go." Duncan said with a smile and went to the dining table with Primrose and served food. In no time David approached. “David come on join us lets have dinner together." Duncan said. “I think am full right now dad, where is mom?” David asked. “Mom went to the plantations she might be late David." Primrose said. “Okay thanks dad but am going to wait for mom I think by the time she comes back my stomach will be empty already." David said. David went to the sitting room and switched on the television. When he was changing the stations he saw news on the television and the presenter was on a high way, the presenter said “There was an accident in the afternoon on the high way, a woman was driving and got a terrible accident and lost her life on spot." All this was heard by everyone in the house except the two maids who were in the kitchen. After seeing the car on the television, David fainted right away. They all moved closer to the television to watch the car in disbelief. Primrose looked at David and she was speechless and shocked, her eyes rolled as she began falling down and fainted. Ruth covered her mouth as her eyes were brightened with tears. Duncan put his palm on his chest and sat down and looked at his fainted children speechlessly. “Tina! Anna!” she called and the two maids quickly arrived. “Quickly help Primrose and David. Take them to fresh air." Ruth told the two maids. They were also shocked. “What’s going on ma’am?” Tina asked. “Just do as I say quickly!” Ruth said as slight tears dropped from her eyes. Tina and Anna helped Primrose and David. Ruth ran to her room and began sobbing her heart out. John was still shocked and speechless, tears slowly began dropping from his eyes in grief. “No! It can’t be!” he screamed and got out of the house. He took his car and drove to the hospital that the presenter mentioned. When he got there he asked to see the dead body that they took from the car accident. It was already covered and so he went close to it with so much sadness in his eyes. He confidently went to open it to confirm that it was Cassie. After seeing the dead body’s face he felt spears and arrows crossing his heart, he fell down and knelt while sobbing his heart out, he cried like a kid and the nurses just let him be. Martin was in his house in the city with Gerry standing by him. Martin was throwing everything around him he broke every kind of glass that was before him and fragile things. His whole house was a mess. He went and punched Gerry’s face. “You are the reason she died! It’s all your fault!” Martin blamed him.  “Boss I was following your orders, the car that I removed brakes from was John’s they might have switched the cars." Gerry tried to defend himself from his cruel boss. “You were following my orders? Did I order you to kill the only woman I have ever loved?” Martin yelled and punched Gerry more and more. He later on got very drunk and fell asleep on the ground. It was the third day after Cassie died. David was in the storeroom sobbing his heart out and Primrose was in her room crying and her eyes were red and swollen like. Ruth came in and said to Primrose “Honey it’s time to go, please let’s go."  “Why would I hurry to go burry my mom? So that I may never see her again?” she cried. “Honey I understand you but you have to be strong for your father and David." Ruth said but Primrose didn’t reply a thing. On the other hand, Duncan found David and began to calm him down. Later on they all left to Montes for the funeral.  Martin and Gerry were heading back to Montes town. Martin didn’t speak a word as well as Gerry. Martin then broke the silence “It is a good thing that the funeral will be held in Montes, it’s Cassie’s home town ever since she was a little girl. I will surely take advantage of this, I will make sure that he doesn’t come out of Montes alive." In the afternoon the funeral was held in Montes as planned. Cassie’s grandmother who lived in Montes was there as well as other relatives and family friends. Martin watched them from a far. David and Primrose together with their dad were really in a bad emotional condition. After the funeral people began leaving the cemetery. David and Primrose made their dad delay to leave that area until it was so late at night, it was around 10 pm. The three of them got into the car and began leaving the cemetery. David and Duncan were on the front seats while Primrose was in the behind seat. As Duncan was driving in the middle of a woody area, one tire of the car was shot and the car stopped immediately. The three of them were very shocked. “Stay here, don’t move out no matter what." Duncan told his children. “David go stay behind with your sister." Duncan said. “No dad! Don’t go” David cried. “Yes dad, don’t." Primrose added. “Do as I say David everything will be okay, just don’t come out.” Duncan said and David went to stay with Primrose. Primrose and David hugged each other worriedly as Duncan got out. He walked few steps away from the car then he saw Martin approaching him and beside him was Gerry and Basil. When Duncan saw Martin he got shocked. “Martin!” he called in disbelief. “Yes John, long time no see” Martin said and got close to John but John moved two steps backward. “Don’t come near me Martin." John said. “Why? Don’t you want to embrace your long life brethren?” Martin asked. “I have never been and will never be your brethren Martin so just stay away from me, pretend as if we never met." John said. “Okay enough of the drama do you remember what I told you the last time we met?” Martin asked. John looked at him with those two strong men beside him and they were all having guns. He gave a faint smile and said to him “Three men with weapons coming after one man?” John confidently commented. “I have always known that you are afraid of me Martin but I never thought it could be to this extent.” He added. Martin looked so angry and gave his gun to Gerry. “Come on get closer let’s battle man to man.” John said after seeing what Martin did. John and Martin began fighting. Each of them had so much resentment towards the other. They fought for almost 10 minutes and from the look of it Martin was being defeated. “The last time we met you said that the next time we meet one of us must not remain alive, that is what you told me Martin” John said as he tightly held Martin’s neck. When Gerry saw this from quite a distance, he pointed his gun on John and shot him sideways on his arm. John let go of Martin and Martin pushed him on the ground. Basil and Gerry quickly ran to their boss. “Are you okay boss?” Gerry asked. “Give me the gun” Martin ordered and the gun was given to him. On the other hand, Primrose and David got out of the car after hearing the gunshot that Gerry shot John. “Dad!” They ran to where they saw the men and their dad on the ground. “Dad!” They cried after seeing their dad on the ground bleeding on the arm. “I told you not to come out." John hardly said. When David and Primrose wanted to hold their dad on the ground, Basil held David and Gerry held Primrose. “Don’t you dare hurt them Martin let them go” John said. “Why? Because you say so?” Martin asked. “I am going to kill you right here before them." He added and pointed his gun on him. “Dad!” Primrose and David cried painfully. “Please spare my life Martin my children just lost their mother, even before they recover from that grief you want them to lose their dad too?” John pleaded. “Look at how small you have gotten." Martin said. “You are the one who would have died in that accident! I planned it for you but my Cassie died." He confessed and John and his children got really surprised. “Damn you Martin you killed my wife!” John said and stood furiously but Martin shot him right away on his forehead. “Dad!” The children painfully cried as their dad fell on the ground and lost his life on spot. That incident was very traumatic for the children. Primrose fainted right away and David’s mind froze in disbelief. “This has been my dream for almost 20 years” Martin said putting his gun back. He looked at the children. “Where should we take them boss?” Gerry asked. “That little brat, take him to the warehouse and the girl is coming with me to the house." Martin said and began walking towards his car.
