Primrose

Chapter 13

It was at around 9 am in the morning and Primrose’s condition was getting worse. Jack had asked all people he could get help from and none had no O negative blood type. He was so confused and stressed out. His mom came with Anne to see the child and they saw him. When Emilia held the baby boy on her arms she couldn’t deny that his looks were so similar to Jack’s looks when he was a newborn. It made her shade some tears. Anne was very happy to see her little nephew especially knowing that he was also Primrose’s son. 

The doctor came to Jack who was standing with Tom and detective Martinez.

“We have tried our best but did not get the required blood type till now detective.” The doctor said. “I am afraid that if we don’t get the blood today, she might not survive in the next 24 hours.” He added. 

When Jack heard this he felt spears crossing his heart. He panicked yet didn’t know what to do. 

On the other hand, Diana, Rose and Tracy were chilling in the garden inside the mansion which was Diana’s home. They were discussing about Primrose because Tracy was telling them the things that happened in the hospital, she just told them that Primrose was in need of a blood transfusion but didn’t specify on the blood group.

“In spite of everything I can’t wish her dead.” Rose said.

“I don’t care about what might happen to her! She has done the worst.” Diana said.

“Diana…” Rose sadly called. 

“I honestly don’t like her too.” Tracy said. 

“What Rose? What do you expect?” Diana asked. 

“But the only blood group that’s rare is blood group O negative and yes if my memory serves me right that’s Prim’s blood group.” Rose spoke her mind.

“Yes I think she is O negative. I never wanted to know more details about her I just over heard my mom speak.” Tracy said and Rose glanced at Diana. 

“Diana you are O negative too, am I right?” Rose asked. 

“What do you mean? You think I can donate my blood for that murderer?” Diana asked and Tracy was just silent.

Rose sighed and asked, “So are you going to watch her die?”

“Exactly!” Diana said. 

“Diana don’t you even pity that child who really needs a mother?” Rose asked.

“I need my father the most! Where is he now? She killed him!” Diana yelled.  

“Diana I understand what you feel but please I don’t want you to be a bad person.” Rose pleaded. 

Emilia called Tracy through the phone and asked her to go to the hospital. Tracy didn’t want to but her mom demanded so she just left. On arriving to the hospital her mom took her to the baby.

“Look at your brother’s son.” Emilia smiled. “Doesn’t he look just like your brother?” She asked.

“Um…somehow I guess.” Tracy said.

“I called you purposely because you were not coming to see your brother and the baby.” Emilia said. 

“It’s not my brother who is sick.” Tracy said.

“His name is John. His mom named him after her late dad.” Emilia said. “You see my child we can’t decide anything for your brother and things have already happened the way they are. Jack needs us more than ever before he is going through a very hard situation.” Emilia explained. 

“If only he had chosen Diana this wouldn’t have happened.” Tracy said.

“But he didn’t and Jack would have just preferred Primrose over Diana. So please let us understand him and help him he really needs us.” Emilia emphasized.

Later on Tracy went to Jack and saw him very sad. Jack saw her and she walked towards him.

“You are here too? I didn’t expect.” Jack said.

“Why? You think I don’t care about you?” Tracy asked.

“I don’t know, do you?” He asked.

“Well I know someone with the blood group you are looking for.” Tracy said and Jack was surprised.

“Who?” He asked. “Please tell me.” He pleaded. 

“She doesn’t want to donate after all.” Tracy said.

“Who? Diana?” Jack guessed.

“You dated her for quite some time and didn’t even know her blood group.” Tracy asked.

“Come on, who the hell cares about knowing blood groups when they're dating? Thank you!” Jack said and walked out of the hospital immediately and went to Diana’s house.

He arrived inside the house and found her watching the television as Rose was taking some rest in her room. 

“I was expecting you.” Diana said while putting pop cones in her mouth. “I see your sister told on me.” She added.

“Diana please…” Jack pleaded as his wet eyes looked at her pitifully.

“Never!” Diana shouted. “That concerned look on your face makes it even worse.” She said. “I should donate my blood to her so that she can get better and you guys can have a happy ending story?” She asked. “I won’t allow that. She is going to die Jack you won’t have her in the next 24 hours.” She added with a smile. 

“She is going to prison! And who knows? It’s just going to be you and I, you won’t have a rival. You might win back what you lost.” Jack said.

Diana laughed and said, “I am obviously not buying that story Jack.”

Jack got closer to her and touched her cheeks with the palms of his hands. 

“I will do anything you will ask of me right now in exchange of saving her life.” Jack declared.  

“Is this how much you love her?” Diana sadly asked. She then pushed him away and said, “You are making this worse by proving to me the extent of your love for her! The more I wish her dead.” She cried.  

“I promise I will do anything Diana even if it means to come back to you, isn’t that all you ever want?” Jack asked and then began kissing her and she didn’t stop him. Suddenly his phone rung and He picked it up. 

“Excuse me.” He said then picked up Martinez’s call.

“Detective I have two good news. David showed up in the hospital so we have got the accomplice back in our hands and the other news is that he has the same blood type as his sister that’s why he came to her rescue.” Martinez said. 

“Thank you very much I am coming right away.” Jack said then chuckled and Martinez hang up.

“Stay with me Jack.” Diana demanded.

“Well I am quitting the drama right now.” Jack said. “Thank you for your time.” He said and walked out immediately leaving Diana very doubtful. 

When He arrived in the hospital David had already donated his blood and was allowed to see Primrose as his blood was undergoing several tests for some minutes.

“David you shouldn’t have come.” Primrose hardly spoke.

“How can you say that?” David asked as some tears were flowing from his eyes. “You are going to be perfectly fine. I could never sit back and watch you die you are my everything.” He cried as he kissed her hands.

“Don’t worry, Ruth and I got the best lawyer for us and I believe things will just turn out fine.” David said.

“Huh, so you were able to go back home? David you were already safe you shouldn’t have returned.” Primrose said.

“You know I couldn’t ever do that.” David said. 

“I love you.” Primrose sadly said. “Where is Ruth?” She asked.

“She wasn’t allowed in and I am just given ten minutes here because they are coming to attend to you soon and you are going to be perfectly fine.” David said. “So she went to see baby John.” David said.

“Oh my son.” Primrose said in grief. “He could have gotten a better mother.” She cried.

“No! You are the best.” David said and in no time they asked him to leave the room because they needed to attend to Primrose. 

When he reached outside the officer came to him because he had to go back to the lock up. Jack was there too.

“You should be ashamed of yourself Jack! You are the reason my sister is in that condition and you are waiting for her to get well so that you can put her behind bars?” David angrily asked Jack.

“Look David, I love your sister very much and I am so concerned about her health and I am so grateful that you came for her rescue. Thank you very much.” Jack said.

“Don’t thank me for something that I would obviously do for my beloved sister. All you have brought to her is pain! You are the reason she is suffering so much.” David scolded.

“David calm down.” Jack said.

“Baby John is going with Ruth, you don’t deserve him and his mom.” David said.

“David that’s not upon you to decide.” Jack said. 

“That child is safe with Ruth your family despises my sister.” David said.

“David the last thing I want is to argue with you. The most important thing to me right now is Primrose’s health and that I got two women I can trust to take good care of my son and that is Ruth and my mom.” Jack said.

Later on they took David and went to lock him up. Attorney Patrick who was an excellent attorney from the city came with Ruth and David to handle Primrose’s and David’s case. 

ONE WEEK LATER.

They were preparing for the final day of trial which was going to happen the next day. Although there were plenty of evidences against Primrose still attorney Patrick was doing a good job in defending the two siblings. Primrose didn’t make it easier for her attorney because she didn’t want to admit that she wasn’t responsible for any murder crime, she was just and accomplice.

“Primrose I want to help you in spite of being paid to defend you I knew your father and he was a good man, you have gone through a lot for heaven sake! Your brother David told me everything that you are not the murderer, so if you admit that before the court it will make this easier.” The attorney advised.

“No I can’t admit anything attorney just keep defending me the way you can but I can’t get Vero in trouble, If I lose the case it’s okay I am prepared to spend my life in prison.” Primrose said.

“Stop it Primrose! You have a little child who needs you and after everything you have been through, you deserve a peace of mind.” He emphasized.

“No attorney Vero has done so many things for me so I just can’t turn her in.” Primrose said.

“If you are going to keep saying that the chances of you being free tomorrow are very low.” The attorney declared. “I haven’t lost any case in my career and only if you were honest before the court, trust me tomorrow you would have been free.” He added. Primrose was just speechless and sad. She remembered how David raised his voice in court the other day.

“Primrose tell them the truth! You are not responsible!” David said.

“Yes I am.” Primrose declared. 

"I just can’t admit it..." She thought.

On the next day as she walked towards to the court Jack spoke to her in a low tone. “Please just speak the truth, today is your only chance.” Primrose just looked at him and didn’t say a word. Diana and Rose arrived early and their lawyer as well.

The procedures began in the court room. In the middle of it when Primrose was being questioned by Diana’s lawyer Vero arrived in the court room boldly. 

“Stop lying Primrose anyone could tell that you are just trying to cover up for someone and that’s me.” Vero declared loudly as she walked in the court room. Everybody turned to look at her. Everybody was surprised and later on they gave her the chance to speak.

Vero spoke everything openly. “Primrose is innocent and I can prove it here today and she was just an accomplice under Martin’s threats. Martin did the worst things he could ever do to her just like he did to me. That killer lady is me.” She then gave out the tape that was stolen the day when the senator was murdered. The court watched everything, how Primrose entered with the senator in the room then two ladies coming out of the room through the window dressed in the same code. They saw how Primrose was crying and wanting to go back and save the senator until when Vero hit her and she fainted and took her to the car and took off.

“Primrose was crying because after I killed the senator she realized that he was her best friend’s dad.” Vero said and both Diana and Rose were so surprised especially after they saw the video. Rose was even crying. The tape was obviously stolen by our companions to eliminate the evidence. Then the author followed and I was the one who murdered him but since Martin knew that it was Primrose going to do that so she just had to be there so that Martin couldn’t doubt that she wasn’t following his orders. The next target was the detectives but Jack was the one that Primrose had to kill first although when I told her that I would do it for her she rebelled. Primrose told me that I would have to kill her first she was so in love with him.” Vero said.

Jack sighed in disbelief he didn’t believe what he just heard.

Vero looked at Primrose and said” I told you Primrose you were defending him and look at how him now, he is gladly waiting to put you behind bars.” Vero said as Primrose just looked down. Jack shook his head sadly. 

“Martin asked Lucas to kill Jack and on that day he found him somewhere outside Rosario’s bar I took the opportunity to threaten him to give me the details of where to find David and I killed him after that, so Jack was still safe again. When Basil found out he went looking for Primrose because he thought that Primrose was the one who killed Lucas but before he could harm her Tom came and rescued her.” As she spoke people were connecting the events and they made sense.

“So yea Primrose is innocent from all the accusations. Some bonus information for you everyone in here, I killed Martin and he deserved it after everything he had done to Primrose, I and David. I don’t regret it at all because he had corrupted this town too much and nobody could easily put him behind bars. You have heard of how he destroyed the Duncan family and all the evil he did to them. Primrose was just an accomplice because she had no choice! Martin was a threat to her he killed her parents and was threatening her on the life of David. One more thing.” Vero said as she took out from her bag the similar clothes that were taken as evidence dress code for the killer lady. She confirmed it before the court that she also had the same dress code just like they saw it from the tape. Jack just wiped tears and many others did the same.

Finally, Primrose declared before the court that everything Vero said was true and she was innocent. This made it very easy for Attorney Patrick to defend her to the end. 

After enough time of discussion and questioning the Judge declared Primrose and David to be innocent but Vero was given a sentence of thirty years in prison. 

When they were getting out of the courtroom Jack went to Diana as Rose went to Primrose.

“Do you find Primrose as amazing as I do? She is my super woman.” Jack bragged. “She is exactly the type of woman that I have ever needed, now don’t you ever compare yourself to her again.” He said then got closer to her ears and whispered, “You are nothing compared to her.” He then walked away from her. Diana was sad and speechless.

Rose went to hug Primrose.

“My beautiful sister.” Rose said. “I am so sorry please forgive me.” She pleaded.

Primrose cried. “I have forgiven you sis…” She said. 

Rose embraced Primrose. 

People smelled peace in Montes…

ONE WEEK LATER

Primrose was in her parent’s house in the city, she was putting on a very beautiful dress. She looked very beautiful. They were throwing a party to welcome themselves back home. Baby John was with uncle David who had already dressed up. They had invited some important guests. 

Primrose was looking at herself in the mirror and Rose came in.

“Wow! You look so beautiful sis, come on let’s go the guests are waiting.” Rose said.

“Okay let’s go.” Primrose said and they walked out together. 

When they arrived down stairs Rose went to her boyfriend and Primrose was talking to some guests joyfully. Later on she held John and they were talking to David.

“The three of us went in Montes, you, I and Dad.” Primrose said.

“And the three of us are back, you I and John.” David said and they smiled.

“I wish Vero was here with us.” Primrose said.

“Look who is here.” David said when he saw Jack coming in. He looked handsome and Primrose really missed him but she didn’t want to show it. He walked towards them.

“Um…Mr. detective there are no criminals in here.” Primrose said and Jack just smiled.

“No it’s not a criminal I came looking for.” Jack said and kissed her hand. “I came looking for my woman.” He said and David excused them. Primrose felt butterflies in her stomach but just pretended by giving a faint smile and suddenly Diana came in and went to them. They weren’t expecting her so they were very surprised. When Rose saw that she got closer too.

“Diana?” They called in unison.

“Primrose, Rose I came to say farewell and to ask for your forgiveness Prim. I can’t say that I love you the same way like I did before but at least now I don’t feel so much resentment towards you.” Diana confessed.

“You are forgiven sis.” Primrose sadly said. "I hope you have forgiven me too." She added then Diana nodded. 

Rose went to hug her and said farewell to her but before Diana left Jack knelt down before Primrose and took out a ring as everybody watched.

“Will you marry me Primrose Duncan?” He asked and everybody in the room was amazed. Primrose felt butterflies in her stomach as her eyes were glowing. Diana just looked at them and gave a faint smile. Primrose looked at everyone around the room but especially at Diana. Diana nodded with a smile.

Primrose looked at Jack and said “Yes Jack I will marry you.” She accepted and everyone around was cheering as he put the ring on her finger. Jack embraced Primrose and they were shedding tears of joy.

“I love you so much Primrose.” Jack said.

“I love you more.” Primrose said. 

Later on when the party was over and the guests had left the two engaged couple took their son to bed and went to bed too. Primrose and Jack were very happy! They never thought that it would be possible for them to be together in harmony but there it was happening just like they desired…
