Chapter 7: The Love Square - PART 2

2136 Words
Luke’s POV: Everything had been squared away with King Kyle, the party had been planned perfectly, and Sam and Tyler had everything under control with the patrols. Literally everything had gone without even a slight kink, and then I had to have a giant mess thrown right at my face. The party had been over for a couple of hours, but I could still smell it, her smell. God it smelled like honey and vanilla. I had never smelled anything so sweet and wonderful before. I knew it couldn’t have been Rylee since she was already 18..... so that left one other person. f**k. I had a feeling that day in the hospital had been a mate pull, I’d hoped so badly that it wasn’t. When I saw her beautiful face though, her gorgeous long blonde hair, her mesmerizing ocean blue eyes, I knew. My true mate was AnnaLee. What in the hell was I going to do about it. Rylee and I had been growing feelings for each other, I felt it. Not to mention we had already been mated to each other, but now her sister is my mate? Oh the Moon Goddess had jokes, I just knew it. Who was I going to talk to first? Rylee, or Anna? That question was quickly answered for me as her scent hit me. I saw Anna standing in the now empty dining hall, by herself and in the dark. She turned to look at me with her eyes wide. “AnnaLee, I don’t even know where to start.” I was cut off by her leaping into my arms and planting her lips firmly onto mine. The kiss was intoxicating. A shock ran up my spine and my body warmed instantly feeling her touch. Damion growled in my head “mine!” I could feel him starting to surface and I had to regain control before he did. Separating our lips, she leaned her head back and stared into my eyes. “It’s always been you. I’ve always known that it would be you.” She whispered. “There’s nothing more I want right now, to just be with you. But AnnaLee, what are we going to do?” I knew my words had hurt her slightly, but she also knew we had a big problem on our hands. I could see her mind going back and forth on what she wanted to say. I sat her back down on the ground and held her face in my hands. We both knew that we needed to talk to Rylee, but the thought scared me to say the least. I didn’t want to hurt her, to make her feel unwanted, or betrayed. We were mated, and had grown close to each other very abruptly. We began forming feelings, then for me to leave her for her sister? Even if she was my true mate, that would hurt anyone, I was sure of it. We needed to approach this delicately. I knew Anna understood, but I also needed to explain this to her in a way that wouldn’t break her either. “Anna, we have to talk to Rylee.” “I agree, we do” I started to suggest that we go to my room so the three of us could talk when I got a link from Sam. “Alpha! They broke across the border. I don’t know how, or how many, but there are Blue Mountain members on our land!” “What are you talking about?! When did this happen? Where are they!” “I don’t know Alpha, Tyler just linked me that one of the southern patrols Chris was taken out. He had a note just like Matt did. It said - We are sorry we missed the party, but we are here now.” I turned to Anna, I knew there was fear in my eyes. I had to shake it away and gave her the run down of what was happening. “Go. Go find Rylee as fast as you can. I want the both of you to hide, and stay together. I will come for you when things are safe.” I gave her a deep, passionate kiss. I needed her to know that she was mine, especially seeing as there were a number of things that could happen tonight. I knew that she was terrified, but she nodded and ran out of the room. I had to find King Kyle, and quick. —————— Rylee’s POV: Kyle and I had just made it back to the hallway when I saw AnnaLee running up towards us. Oh God, she had seen us. She knew something was up, she always knew when something was up. What was I going to say to her? What was she going to say it me? “King Kyle, I’m sorry to rush you like this, but Alpha Luke needs you immediately. There has been another attack.” Kyle gave a single nod and just like that he was gone. Anna looked at me, and I could tell she had so much she wanted to say. She kept it in though, all she said was “We need to hide.” We ran through the, now bustling, hallways. Men and women warriors were shifting into their wolves, then bolting outside to protect out pack. Mothers with their babies were running to find shelter. It looked like a horrible movie scene that you’d see before a battle...... that’s just what it was. There was a huge knot in my stomach. I knew we would lose some of our pack, and I felt helpless to stop it. It was the exact same feeling I remembered from when our pack was attacked a year ago. when we had lost our father and so many others. A single tear fell down my cheek as we ran down the twisted hall to the stairs. Anna and I finally had made our way down past the basement and into the wine cellar. It had been put here when the house was first built over 350 years ago. So very few, actually knew it was there. And aside from some of the kitchen omegas, no one even knew how to get to it. It would definitely be one of the safer spots for us. “I should be out there right now. I should be helping everyone.” “No Rylee, Luke gave a very direct order. He said we needed to hide, and he would come for us when it was safe. For once listen, and stay down here with me.” I sat silent. I knew she was right, and I shouldn’t go against a direct order. Wait, had she just called him Luke? She always referred to him as Alpha Luke. The thought was pushed out of my head quickly as I heard the sound of glass breaking above us. Oh. My. GOD. How in the hell had we forgotten about the small cellar windows? In the back of the room behind some wine racks we saw the glass fall. Then 2 men and a wolf came around the corner towards us. “Ahhh, Luna, and Lunas sister. What a treat.” One of the men sneered. “Don’t worry ladies, this won’t hurt a bit.” I jumped up to shield Anna, hurling a wine bottle and one of their heads. A loud crash, followed by the sound of him cussing. “You f*****g b***h! You scratched my face!” The other man went to lunge at me but the first one bellowed. “No! She is mine!” He made a pass for me and I dodged him, quickly rearing back and kicking his left leg inward. He screamed again, but I didn’t hesitate. I reached for his arm and threw it behind his back, pushing it up over his head, and flipped him. He landed with a loud thud, and the other man raced toward me. He swung and I ducked, sweeping his legs out from under him. I looked over to see Anna hitting the first guy in the head with another wine bottle. Yes! We could actually make it out of this. All of those early training sessions I cussed my dad for were finally being put to use. After sweeping his legs, I gave him a swift kick to the ribs hearing a loud crack. Good! I broke a rib. I turned to look at Anna again and saw her on the ground. I tried to run to her but a cloud of powder engulfed my face. I started to stumble as everything became blurry. The man whose rib I had broke shoved me to the ground. He threw his foot into my side and stomach churning “POP” echoed in my ears. “f**k!” The other man who Anna and I had assaulted with the wine bottles came over to me next. He lobbed his fist straight into my face. The pain was excruciating but by that point I couldn’t even speak. Whatever had been blown in my face was restricting me, and quickly. The wolf who had come down with them was now in human form. “Okay you two, that’s enough!” They stopped attacking me. “We need them BOTH alive if this is going to work out as planned. Just get them and let’s go.” The men nodded as they picked up Anna, and then myself. He had to be the Alpha, I knew he was the way they were following his orders. I also knew that he wasn’t the Blue Mountain’s Alpha. I’d seen their Alpha a couple times before, and that wasn’t him, What the actual f**k was going on? I would have to question later, because even my thoughts were fuzzy by that point. The cellar walls blurred in and out, and I saw us being pulled through the windows. I saw the chaos outside, wolves and Lycan’s were all fighting in a swarm. Some shifted, some not. I looked up and saw Kyle and Luke fighting beside each other. Kyle. I had finally found my true mate, and I was going to lose him. About the same time I saw Kyles eyes meet mine. He rushed to reach me when he was hit from the side by 2 wolves. I couldn’t even move my head to see Anna anymore, but I knew she was close by. They said they needed both of us alive, so that would be our advantage for the time being. I tried to link Luke, anyone, but I couldn’t. We were rushed through the woods and past the river. I was still coherent enough to realize I needed to leave something for my pack to find. With as much strength as I could muster up I took the tip of my right foot and flicked off my left shoe. It quietly landed on the ground as we kept moving. They would find us, I knew they would, but it couldn’t hurt to give them a little help. It felt like we had been running forever when I finally got a glimpse of, what looked like, a few abandoned buildings in the distance. I took my left toe quickly kicking off my right shoe, and it fell to the ground too. After another minute or so we finally stopped for a moment, and the alpha made eye contact with me. “Why the f**k is she still awake? You idiots didn’t use enough!” “No alpha, I swear, We used the whole vial. It was enough to knock a Lycan out.” I heard a loud growl and then another plume of powder covered my face. I tried to hold on. “Let them know we are almost there, and to get the holding cell ready.” “Yes Alpha” they said in unison. I twitched my eyes to the right and saw one of the large buildings had a giant sun on the side of it. I tried to find more clues that would tell us where we were. “Don’t worry Rylee.” Aspen’s voice was like music to my ears. “We are strong. We will get through this, but you need to save your strength. You and Anna both need each other to survive.” “But how Aspen? No one knows where we are. How are we going to get out of this?” “We are strong. we are special. Just hold on.” What did she mean? How were we special, and what did Anna have to do with it? I wanted to ask her, I needed to know. That’s when everything went black.
