Kyle’s POV:
As soon as I found Alpha Luke everything happened so fast. We were talking with Sam and Tyler, his Beta and Gamma, trying to get all the details about the looming attack.
The air around us seemed immensely still, the scene made me feel uneasy. I barely finished my thought when all hell broke loose.
Screams echoed around the lawn as wolves poured in all around us. Warriors from our packs started shifting to attack, while other members were running to find cover. Luke and I had finishing barking orders to everyone, getting them where they needed to be, when her glorious scent washed over me again.
I shouldn’t have been smelling her in the ongoing bloodbath. Where was she, why was she here?
Almost to the tree line, a few yards away, I finally saw her. Rylee was slung over the shoulder of some man, with AnnaLee not too far behind.
Her eyes looked dull and weary. They were not the same vibrant eyes I had seen only hours before, and her face was bloodied. They had broken her nose.
Those bastards had hurt my mate. They had attacked her, hurt her, and I was going to rip every last one of their limbs from their f*****g bodies!
I saw them start running into the forest, they were trying to take my life from me! I bolted across the yard to reach them, when I was hit from both sides by wolves. Fine, These wolves wanted to play? I was going to make them regret it....
Swiftly shifting, my clothes shredded around me on the ground. I sunk my teeth into the wolf on my right, and a loud wail escaped him. I effortlessly tossed him several feet away from me, tearing his neck open in the process.
A limp lifeless human was all that was left as I went for the next wolf. A fluid kick to the ribs was accompanied with a s***h across his snout. He leapt forward again, catching my front leg with his teeth.
Nice shot, especially for being a low status wolf. I’ll be damned if it hadn’t hurt a little too.
I didn’t have time for games though. I gave another hard kick to his side feeling several bones break. He rolled onto his side in pain as I reared back, throwing my claws into his neck. Once again a lifeless human was before me, and I tossed him to the side with the other one.
I sped over to the opening of the forest, looking for anything. The smallest clue as to which way they went. Rylee had just been here not 10 minutes ago. I had to go after them, I knew I couldn’t be too far behind. I linked my Beta Michael.
“They took her into the forest, I have to go find them!”
“What the f**k do you mean you have to go find them?”
I was severely annoyed. He was the only one who could get away with talking to me like that, but now was not the time.
“She’s my mate Michael, I have to!”
“I know as Lycan’s that we are stronger, but think clearly! You have no clue what could be waiting for you. Not even you would win against 30 wolves..... and that’s if there was only 30.”
He was right. Damn I hated when he was right. We would get them back, but we had to come up with a plan.
My eyes focused back over to the fight, or atleast, where the fight had been. All of the wolves that had been attacking were gone. As quickly as they had swarmed us, they just left.
I sprinted back over to Alpha Luke, and filled him in on what had happened. Anger and rage was radiating off of him, but was instantly replaced with regret.
I could tell he was having the same realization I had. They had come to kidnap AnnaLee and Rylee, and once they had got what they wanted, they split.
The whole f*****g fight, was just so they could sneak in and take them during the uproar, and they succeeded.
We were so busy fighting off the wolves that they took them right out from our noses, and slipped away almost entirely unnoticed.
“Damnit!” I yelled, filling the again still air.
Luke walked up to me, shaking his head.
“We will find them. They took my mate, and we won’t let them get away with it.”
His Gamma Tyler spoke up.
“They thought they could just take Rylee, our Luna, and AnnaLee from us? We will show them not to mess with the White River Pack ever again!”
Several other pack warriors, who had been listening, all chimed in,
“Yes, Gamma!”
I saw Luke’s eyes widen slightly when Tyler said Rylee’s name. He knew she had been taken, he even proclaimed in pain that his mate had been kidnapped.
Why did I feel like he had Rylee as a side thought? It felt like he was putting the focus on AnnaLee.
I also hated the feeling when he said “my mate” and wanted to snap at him. Maybe I was just thinking what I wanted to.
“Okay men, we need to come up with something, and fast. Alpha Luke, if you don’t mind I’d like you to come with me so we can strategize.” He nodded at me.
“Beta Sam, you and my Beta Michael will go search the edge of the forest. Look for anything that could tell us where they could have gone.” The both dipped their heads in acknowledgement and took off.
“Gamma Tyler, my Gamma Xavier will go with you. I want you both to find where AnnaLee and Rylee were when they got ambushed. See if you can find out what happened before they were carried away.”
With everyone off on their assigned tasks,, Luke and I made our way to his office to develop our course of action. We had to be discrete and very few could know the full plan.
We had to try to reach them. It was a long shot, but we had to cover all our bases. The fog finally lifted from Luke’s eyes and he turned to me.
“Nothing. I couldn’t link either of them. It’s almost like they are both blocking me.”
I sighed heavily. I knew we weren’t going to be able to reach them, but this just angered me more. Going over the events in my head my eyes started to go black.
“Those wolves knew the party was happening tonight. Somehow they got past every patrol that you had posted and it wasn’t a coincidence. We have a traitor working from the inside. We are going to find out who, and make them beg for mercy.”

Rylee’s POV:
Goddess my head was pounding, and I wasn’t sure how long I had been out. By the sunlight peeking through the wood slats on the roof, I knew it was morning.
I scanned the room for Anna and saw her a few feet away from me. Like myself, she was chained to the concrete floor, but she was still unconscious.
I struggled in my spot, straining and pulling on the chain to try to break it loose. It was too strong though, I felt so helpless. Daughter of an Alpha, Luna of my people, and I let myself get kidnapped.
“Anna” I whispered across the room. She didn’t respond though. Wait, she was 18 now.
“Anna? Can you hear me?”
“Don’t even bother miss Luna.” The words cut through me with a chill.
“You can’t mindlink her, or anyone else for that matter. We’ve made sure of that.”
I turned to face a tall, slender man with a long black coat. He looked in desperate need of some sun, and his eyes were red filled with evil. He was emitting a strong aura, almost enough for me to back down in fear.
I held firm, I couldn’t let him have that power. He’d already taken me away from my pack, and my mate, while drugging me and Anna in the process. I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of seeing fear from me too.
Anna had finally started to stir by that point.
“What do you want? Let us go now!” I quickly went from scared to enraged. Who the hell did he think he was? I wanted answers.
“In good time, you will have all the answers to your questions. You and your sister are an important part of my plan. I’ve had my eye on you for a while.”
He smiled at me and that’s when I saw his long fangs peek through. A f*****g vampire? And he was working with wolves? This was all kinds of messed up.
“How rude of me to ignore you.” He looked Anna’s direction.
“We don’t give a f**k! You aren’t important you lifeless, soul sucking leach. You’re just a pain in my ass who is in dire need of a tan.”
He sneered at me. I knew I’d struck a nerve and that was good. I’d need to slowly chip away at him if I was going to get him to slip up.
“My name is Lucas, Lucas Allister of the Allister Coven! I don’t know how big and bad your father made you think you are, but you will respect me!” He belted with his fists held firm at his side.
He had known my father? I had gotten his name too, this was perfect, I needed more.
“I had a feeling that you were the ones I was after, but I needed a way to confirm it. After all, I wasn’t going to just employ your kidnapping without being sure. So that’s why I sent one of the wolves a few days ago.”
My eyes shot wide. The wolf that had injected me with the poison, he sent him? I was right, I knew that alpha from last night didn’t look familiar. This whole time the attacks hadn’t been the Blue Mountain pack at all.
“I can tell by your face that you remember who I’m speaking of then? Good. He was actually loyal and strong, for a wolf. It’s a shame I had to make him kill himself. I couldn’t risk an early exposure though.”
“What do you mean you made him kill himself?” I was so confused. Luke had told me how he had sliced his own neck, this man wasn’t anywhere near him. He cackled loudly at my question.
“My dear girl, do you really think I didn’t have control of the situation? Believe me, I made him do it.”
This had me almost trembling. I knew they had been working with him willingly, but he was able to control them too? I still needed more to work with though, I had to get him to give me something big.
I saw Anna who was fully awake and wide eyed. She was trying to take everything in, and I could see she was as terrified as I was. Only she was doing a bad job at hiding it.
“The poison he gave you would have killed any other wolf, within an hour atleast. When you survived, I was certain you were who I’d been looking for.” He smirked looking towards Anna, who had shrunk down at his gaze.
“Don’t worry dear, I need you too. You are stronger as a pair so I won’t dispose of you. So long as you don’t give me too much trouble that is.”
She quivered and he cackled again, filling the room with his disgusting voice. With that he turned on his heel and started to walk back toward the door to leave.
“Wait! Get back here!” I yelled seething with anger. I needed to get more out of him, what could he possibly know about us that we didn’t even know? He paid me no mind though. A loud slam vibrated up the walls, and he was gone.
In less than 24 hours I had found my true mate, making me have to talk with my current mate and figure out what my pack would do.
Plus, Anna and I had been attacked, drugged, kidnapped, chained, and found out a vampire needed us for some master plan. Talk about a shitty day. Anna interrupted my thoughts of pity and self-loathing.
“Rylee, what did he mean we are stronger together? For what?!” wailing out between her sobs.
“I don’t know Anna. HE’S A DAMN LUNATIC!” I directed my voice toward the door, and made sure to yell loud enough hoping he would hear me.
Wait? Aspen had said the same thing to me last night. She said we were strong, but Anna and I both needed each other. She said that we were stronger together. It had to be the same thing that this crazy vamp was talking about.
