Jason exchanged a concerned look with Cyrus, not putting me down. “Jason, put me down, please,” I repeated. Cyrus sighed softly amid the heavy noise of the helicopter above, “Just let her go, Jason.” Jason put me on the deck reluctantly. The ferry already started to sink. Blue water slowly surged up, covering the deck. I crossed to Clara. When I yanked a handgun out of a dead body’s grip, Cyrus and Jason both shifted in my periphery nervously. But they didn’t come up to stop me. I pressed the muzzle of the gun against Clara’s forehead and asked quietly, “Where is Jasper?” Clara looked up slowly, a grin stretching over her lips.
