Episode three
Although Aiden power was tamed, he's ability to see from far was still there.
Unable to sleep because of the numerous nightmares, Aiden was on the rooftop watching the glowing stars, when he began to hear the heartbeat like that of a troubled soul. out of curiosity, Aiden Left his house in search of this soul following the heartbeat and footsteps he was hearing .
on the other hand, miss Selena was trying to get to a safe spot inorder to know if she can escape from her trailer but unfortunately for her , the more she run ,the more they pursue her. with her heart beating so fast out of fear, she wished she had listened to her father but as it stands now , it's too late to regret.
As she was running without looking at her destination, she bumped into Aiden who was also coming to safe her from the trailers.
Selena out of fright let out a loud cry thinking it was one of the trailer, in trembling and fear she spoke with quivering voice;
Please… I’m begging you,” she whispered, her voice cracking, barely able to form the words through her sobs. “Don’t… don’t hurt me.”
Her body shook violently, as though the ground beneath her feet had turned to ice. Tears streamed down her cheeks, unchecked, as she fell to her knees, hands clasped together in a pleading gesture.
Aiden uncertain on how to assure her she was safe picked her up from the ground and embraced her
she felt like her whole fear and trembling dissolved immediately she was embraced feeling some sense of peace and safety, she then asked;
“who are you?“
I'm your saviour, Aiden replied with a chuckle
you don't need to panic, they are gone and won't return again.
Selena now feeling relieved muttered a word of appreciation;
“thank you”
Aiden after seeing how miserable she looks offered to walk her to her destination.
“Where are you heading to? ” he asked
“No where in particular" she said still in shock
Aiden in a surprised tone asked;
“what then are you doing along the road by this time of the night?"
“ I was just taking a walk" she replied
Aiden took her to a corner where they got a place to sit.
After some moments of silence, Selena opened up with a word of appreciation again
“Thank you so much for really been my savior tonight, I wonder what would've become of me if you didn't intervene."
“ I'm so glad I was able to help" Aiden began
you know, these days, to wander about without a companion especially for young ladies like you is very dangerous.
Selena, not wanting to prolong the topic introduced herself to him;
“by the way am Selena"
"Am Aiden" Aiden replied sarcastically not wanting to include his parents name to avoid any form of suspicion.
“wow! that's a nice name I must admit. well, my major aim of coming out tonight was for a purpose and one of which is to be able to make friends" Selena spoke.
Aiden chuckled not hiding his surprised state asked.
“And who told you that friends are made in the night?"
she responded with some level of rudeness
*"I didn’t need anyone to tell me. It’s just something you'd figure out if you paid attention."
Aiden not willing to continue the conversation, offered to take her home.
on their way going back to Selena's house, they had lots of discussion which made Selena fall deeply for him and wished to stay with him much longer.
On getting to Mr. cross gate, Selena bid Aiden farewell with a promise to come visit him often.
is this really love at first sight or just mere fantasy ..?
