CHAPTER 14 ADRIANNA’S POV “Anything else I can do for you, miss?” The maid raised her brows inquiringly, glancing at my hold on her wrist before looking back at me. Realizing I was holding her a little too tight, I pulled my hand away reflexively and curled my fingers, an apologetic look on my face. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to…” “It’s fine, it was nothing,” she said with a reassuring smile, though she gave me a confused look. My grip had troubled her. The flicker of unease in her eyes said it all. I just hoped I hadn’t hurt or scared her. “Anything else you want me to do for you?” She asked again, thoughtfully. I shifted uneasily on the edge of the bed, scratching the back of my neck. I didn’t know how to ask her this. I don’t want her to think I was intruding or asking too much.
