I don’t know how long we had been flying for. Up, up, up further and further into the sky. Long enough for the sun to set, long enough for the moon to beam brightly in the sky and the stars to show each consolation without pause. I could even see the milky way clearly from the height we had ascended. But we’ve been too far, flying too long. I was exhausted, my back muscles were killing me. They felt like someone was repeatedly stabbing me in the back, over and over again. I didn’t know how much longer I could go. Staying side by side with Uriel was hard enough.
