DAVID AND I ACCOMPANIED his father to the hospital Monday morning and got his mother safely into the car and home. Once she was home, we got her settled in a recliner, after she refused to immediately go to bed. After a light lunch, Russell asked a neighbor to come over to the house and stay with Harriet while he drove us to the airport. When he turned into the hourly parking lot, David said, “Dad, you could have just dropped us off in the departures area.”
“That’s true,” Russell said, “but I want to walk with you as far as security, so we’ll have more time to visit.”
