Lucien
I stood at the window, watching the rain pour down. My thoughts went back to a week ago, when I beat the hell out of Tony for putting his hands on her. He had his hand on her body… touching her.
The minute he did that I saw red, and the next thing I know Caterina was screaming at me to stop. When I did, I left him out there in the yard knocked out. He never stood a chance against.
I seriously need to quit thinking about her, but I can’t. She was in my head, and constantly on my mind. I feel my d**k twitch, whenever someone says her name. I knew I shouldn't have jacked off thinking about her, but I was throbbing so bad. I needed to release badly or else I might explode. Now I can't get her out of my head.
Lately, everything was making me explode, and it was irritating the s**t out of me. It felt like everyone was on my ass for anything, especially my father.

"You seriously need to get laid man." Alec told me, nodding at the group of girls. "Trust me, girls will come at your beck and call because you’re going to take over for your father."
I didn't even spare a glance at those whores. It's not who I really want.
"No. There's only one girl I want, and it's not them." I growled out, gesturing to them.
He threw me a devious grin.
"She's going to be married in a few years and guess what? It's not going to be to you. It's how it goes in the mafia and you know Giovanni isn't going to change his mind once it's made up. When his mind is made up… it’s made up."
His words begin to sink in and I down my shot, letting the burn drown out my bleeding heart.
"Look, I wasn't trying to be a d**k. I'm just stating the fact." I look across the room and see a staggering Caterina.
I guess someone is having fun.
She has her arms around Tony's neck, and he's kissing her as she grinds on his lap. I f*****g told him to stay away. I can feel my anger taking over, and take a drink straight from the bottle. Alec's eyes follow where I'm looking and his eyes widen, trying to pull me back.
"Don't cause a scene!"
I shoved him away, storming off in Tony and Caterina’s direction. I can hear Alec yelling for me to stop, but I don't listen. My protective instincts have kicked in and I only have one thing on my mind… kicking Tony's ass. Again.
I push my way to them and Tony grabs her ass smirking at me. "Can I help you, Lucien? I'm a little busy here, in case you haven’t noticed."
Ripping Caterina off of him, I shove her into Alec’s arms.
"Take her home. Now." I commanded him as I grab Tony by the collar of his shirt and punch him in the mouth. "I thought I told you to stay the hell away from her!"
He spits blood on my face, throwing his head back and laughs.
"You caught me off guard last time. Now, I'm ready for you." He taunts me as he shoves me, but I punch him in the stomach, knocking the air out of him.
"You'll always be just friends. She sees you as a brother. Face it, you're friend-zoned."
That does it!
I kick him making him stumble to the floor and pummel his face. I couldn't hear anyone trying to talk to me. I was in kill mode and I wanted his blood. I felt someone bigger than me yank me off and finally come back to my senses. My father stood there glaring daggers, but not at me… at Tony.
He drags me by my arm and shoves me in the car. The whole drive was silent and to tell the truth it scared me. He didn't punch me or curse me. He was just completely silent. I walked in the house and Giovanni stood there with his arms crossed.
"Well, I should be mad but I'm not. Alec told me what happened. The good news is he's not pressing charges, thanks to a little persuading."
My head throbbed the next morning, and the first thing I saw was Caterina's fist smashing into my face. "Why! I liked him and now he won't have anything to do with me!" Another punch. "Why are you being such a jerk?"
"I'm sorry. I just...I…" I tried to come up with something, but failed. I had no excuse, because I wasn’t sorry for hitting him.
She left me walking out the door. I never meant to upset her. I guess I can't do anything right. I hung my head down, sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Damn. She can pack a punch." I whispered, rubbing my face.
"You got that right."
I swiveled my head around to see Giovanni standing there, wincing at my bruised eye. "Just like her mother." He frowned as he mentioned his wife.
He leaned in the doorway and sighed. "I'm not mad, but I guess my Princess is. Get her some chocolate and she'll forgive you. I promise. God knows, I made her mother mad numerous times and that's what I did. She always forgave me."
I did exactly what he suggested and now here I am, knocking on her bedroom door. She it opened it and tried to shut it. I stuck my foot in blocking her. "I'm sorry. I swear I was under your father's orders. I had to obey."
I held my hand out for her to take the bar. "I brought a peace offering." She backed away and opened it up stepping to the side. "Friends?" That word left a sour taste in my mouth.
Maybe Tony was right… I was friend-zoned.
"Of course." She took the chocolate and hugged me kissing me on the cheek. I wished those lips were somewhere else. My phone rang and I groaned, it was Giovanni calling me to come over for a job.
"I have to go. My father needs me." I lied, knowing if I told her the truth, she would only get mad again.
I stood in the basement with Giovanni and my father. The man that had attacked Caterina was tied to a chair. Giovanni handed me a gun, nudging me closer to the man. "He's useless now… kill him."
I held the gun to his head and pulled the trigger. His body went limp, blood flowing out. I watched in satisfaction as his head rolled forward and he had stopped thrashing against the ropes. I never liked that guy anyways. I hated the way he always stared at her in a creepy way.
I handed the gun back to Giovanni, but he shook his head. "It's yours now. Benvenuto in famiglia."
Welcome to the family.
This wasn't a job… it was an initiation.
I was in… I was officially taking over for my father.
I wouldn’t be recognized as Lucien, Luca Genovese’s son.
I was Lucien Genovese… Giovanni’s second-in-command.
