Caterina Lucien has been avoiding me for the past few days. Every time I try to get him alone to talk to him, he brushes me off. He gives me some lame excuse, claiming his father needs him. If I have to knock him out and tie him to a chair to get him to talk to me, I will. I chewed on the end of my eraser trying to think of why he would be acting that way. I feel a tear slide down my face as I think about the night Lucien beat the hell out of Tony at the party. He had no right to dictate who I touch or kiss. I’m not his property. Is that why he’s been acting so distant with me? Was he jealous of Tony? “Penny for your thoughts?” Lucien stood in the doorway burning a hole in my face. I looked away, ignoring him… just like he’s been doing to me. I feel the bed dip and an arm drape over my shoulder as he sighs. “Don’t be like that.” I keep my eyes down, avoiding him as much as I can. Two can play at this game, asshole. If he thinks he off the hook this easy, he’s got another thing coming. I rip away from him with fire burning deep inside with anger. He pulls me down on the bed with him, looming over my body. I bite my lip to keep me from losing my temper, but he brings his finger to my cheek. “Don’t do that.” He runs his finger down my neck with a pained expression. “What the hell are you hiding from me Lucien Genovese? Don’t give me the same lame excuse!” I poke my finger in his chest. He stills when our skin touches as if I’d burned him. He once again avoids my question leaving me alone in tears and confusion. I guess I’ll just have to do what I planned on doing… knock him out and tie him up. He’ll have no choice but answer my questions. ___ I stealthily stepped in his room with everything I needed to have in order for this to work. He was sleeping in his bed as I stepped closer. I straddled his waist and his eyes opened up and widened in shock. “What are you doing?” I looked him deep in the eyes and held the syringe to his neck. The look of hurt and betrayal flashed through his eyes as I whispered. “I’m sorry.” I can’t help but feel terrible for doing this to him as I handcuff his wrists to the bed. I didn’t want to do this Lucien, but you gave me no choice. You should have just answered my question and quit avoiding me… lying to me. I sat in the chair next to the bed, waiting for him to wake back up. He’s going to be really pissed off at me. Please forgive me, Lucien. I held my head in my hands and heard the cuffs rattling with an angry best friend glaring at me when I look up. “What the hell do you think you’re doing? Unlock me now!” He screamed at me thrashing, making the metal clink. He’s going to be mad a while for doing this to him. I brought my face level to his and he starts to sweat and look nervous. “What are you hiding from me?” He whipped his head to the side, staring out the window to avoid looking at me. Oh no you don’t, Lucien! I gripped his chin, forcing him to look at me. “I’m going to ask you again. What are you hiding from me? Why have you been avoiding me…lying to me?” He groaned, trying to free himself from the restraints and hisses. “Princess, you are going to be sorry you did this!” He exaggerates the word princess and grinds his teeth. I c**k my head and smile, tapping my chin. “Well if you hadn’t been avoiding my question and lying to me I wouldn’t had to do this. You gave me no choice.” He gapes at me as I start to straddle his waist, bucking his hips to knock me off the bed. I start to feel an unexplained feeling spreading throughout me. Heat starts to build up in me every time he bucks. “Get the hell off of me!” Lucien clenches his jaw and narrows his eyes. I can feel something poking out from him and I think he realized what was happening. He quit trying to buck me off and becomes completely still. I back away and rose to my knees as he looked at me embarrassed and horrified. “Please. Let me go.” He begs me, no longer fighting against the cuffs. He looks like he’s in terrible pain and ashamed at the same time. He won’t even look at me now. “Please, just tell me why you keep avoiding me.” I add, sucking in a breath and exhale deeply. He turns to me, nodding towards his nightstand. I followed his eyes, spotting the gun. Not just any gun… my father’s gun. I knew immediately what that meant. He was under my father’s orders to keep me in the dark. He had been initiated into the family. “If I unlock you, are you going to play nice?” He nodded, pleading with his eyes. I pulled the key from my pocket and turned the key unlocking him and took a step back. I hope he was being sincere when he said he would play nice, but when I looked at his face… I knew. He played me. I tried to run, but he grabbed me by the waist and pulled me down. “That wasn’t very nice of you.” He leaned his head to the side, breathing in my ear. The fire inside me starts to come back, making wetness pool between my legs. No! I can’t think of him this way. He’s my best friend. “I couldn’t tell you anything because I was ordered to. He’s training me and I have to do exactly as he says.” I squirmed and tried to loosen his grip, but failed. I stomped on his foot and elbowed him in the gut, running to the door. Just as I was going to make a run for it he slammed it back, blocking my escape. “You’re not going anywhere. Not yet.” His eyes held a darkness and his grip on me was like a vice. I’ve never seen him this way. Not even when he was pounding his fists in Tony’s face. I awakened a beast in him and something told me, it wasn’t to be reckoned with. I gulped as he twisted me around and his eyes held pure anger, shoving me to the wall and placing his hands on each side of my head. He lowered his head just beside my ear, hissing out with his breath hot on neck. “You know what I had to do for initiation, Princess? I had to kill a man. Do you know who that was?” Sweat dripped from my forehead as he smirked at me. Please don’t tell me he killed Tony. “I killed the man that touched you. Touched what doesn’t belong to him.” I squeezed my eyes shut, silently crying and praying that the old Lucien would come back to me and quit acting like an animal. Come back to me, Lucien.
