I laid on my side and felt the pain from being away from him. It hurt each time I closed my eyes replaying the memories we shared, and the horror of Lucien’s heartbroken expression. I never wanted to push him away, but it would be harder to do later. So, I made myself do it before I fell even deeper for him. I wiped my tears when I heard the door open and close.
