Claire came out of the room and started working again, but thankfully the assigned task for the day was already done, thanks to Gina. She came down to their department to look for Gina, but unfortunately, she just went home. “Kaye, have you seen Gina?” “She just went home, Claire. She has been looking for you. Where have you been? Were you slacking off somewhere?” Kaye teasingly said. She just laughed and thanked her. “Bye, Kaye. Thank you.” Claire said. She’s too tense to entertain people right now. What happened to her in that room is a secret. It should remain a secret forever. I think he wouldn’t even know that I went there and something happened between us, right? But what if he will remember? He was drunk. What if? Claire sighed with the thought. What should I do? What if she will come and sue me? You should be the one suing him, not the other way around. But---I liked what happened. What should I dooooo! Claire is inside the women’s locker room. She is alone because a lot of her workmates went home. She undressed herself. When she removed her dress, she saw a lot of red markings on her body. She touched it. These are the marks he left me, proving that the man and I shared a moment together. I cannot undo this sweet mistake. I have to go back to my hometown. I don’t want other people to know that I did something forbidden in this hotel. Claire took her clothes in her locker and hurriedly put on her After putting on her clothes, she went outside the locker room and walked towards the security guard to check her belongings. “Bye, Sanchez.” Claire waved goodbye to the guard. I don’t want to leave just yet. I don’t want to resign. I still love my job, but it will be hard for me if my manager knows what happened. She went outside the hotel, walked towards the SUV terminal, and fell in line. She took out her phone and wrote a resignation letter. I will not come to work starting tomorrow. I’ll just pass my resignation letter via email. I’ll just tell them that my family has an emergency in my hometown and I need to go there immediately. Claire doesn't have the guts to face her co-workers, and she doesn't want to see the man again. After writing the resignation, she sends it to her manager via email. She saw the ‘sent’ notification. She sighed. It’s a good thing that I still have savings. I have to look for a job tomorrow and forget what happened today. I won’t tell my family about what happened. She sighed once again. What a fleeting moment. Claire walked up because her phone vibrated. She took it and looked at the notifications. “Why is it that my manager is looking for me. I just sent her my resignation. Even Gina is looking for me.” She opened Gina’s message. Claire, where have you been? I’d been waiting for you, but you didn’t come. I got home early because I have an urgent thing to do. Claire! Why are you not here yet? Where are you? Claire! Is it true? Did you resign? Why? Claire felt sad once again. Gina is like her sister in the company. They got so close when they were assigned to clean one room. Gina has been working with the company for three years, and she told Claire that she loves the company because of how they treat their people, and for the past two months, she really felt how they care for their people. The salary is good, and they even have a free meal! She even decided not to resign after six months, but because of what happened, she needed to leave. She has to. She opened another message. Miss Claire, I would like to request you to show up today. ASAP. Miss Claire, the head of security, is looking for you, he is asking us when will you show up. Miss Claire, I did not approve your resignation. You need to come to work and report to me right now! Miss Claire, the managing director, is looking for you, you need to show up now! Claire saw five missed calls from her manager and ten missed calls from Gina. Claire’s eyes widened. Why is it that the head of security looking for me? Even the managing director? I’m just a mere employee, and the managing director is looking for someone like me? Did they know what happened? Did the man realize I wasn't the woman he made love with? Is he going to sue me? I shouldn’t reply. I should change my number. I should go back to my hometown, but no! I shouldn't. I should get out of here. I should move out. Where should I go? Claire screamed when someone knocked on her door. “Claire, this is Lolit, your landlady.” She calmed herself down and came towards the door. She opened the door, and she saw her landlady. “Good morning, Ma’am. Why did you come here today, Ma’am?” Claire asked. “Oh. Nothing, I was just checking on my tenants.” Her landlady said. “Can I come in?” She opened her door wide open and let her landlady come in. “Yes, of course, Ma’am,” Claire answered. Her landlady came in and sat down on her chair. “How are you, Claire?” her landlady asked the moment she sat down. She was stunned by the question. I have been here for two months, but she never talks to me like this. She cleared her throat and answered. “I’m--- I’m doing great, Ma’am,” Claire answered. “How’s your work?” “I am--- I just resigned, Ma’am, but rest assured I will still pay my rent in time, Maam. I am currently looking for a job, so I will pay my bills and rent on time, Maam.” Claire nervously said.
