Chapter 11

2090 Words
Following all those dragon girls downstairs, Elena surprisingly found that instead of the dining hall, they went directly to the garden outside from the side door. It was late spring. The weather just started getting hot, but the plants hadn’t decided to go green yet. Withered weeds were everywhere and half of those trees were still bald. Lennie somehow found herself a place for a huge sunshade. A red carpet decorated by golden threads was under her feet, and in front of her was a long dining table for more than a dozen people. Lennie was sitting in a big luxurious armchair like she was already the Queen. Several wolf maids wearing exactly the same uniform as Elena were standing behind her with their heads lowered, waiting humbly. Ashely was the first one to step forward and saluted Lennie. “Your Highness,” she came to the side of Lennie’s chair and lifted up her thin dress along with an elegant bow. Lennie then gave her hand to Ashely for her to kiss. When their eyes connected, Elena swore she spotted something unusual between them. And then, as if to confirm her speculation, after Ashely finished kissing Lennie’s hand, she leaned forward a little and kissed Lennie on the lips just like they were lovers. Elena froze, feeling totally confused. And then, one by one, all the other 11 dragon girls went to Lennie’s chair and did exactly the same thing as Ashely. They all kissed Lennie first on the hand and then on the lips with passion. Elena even saw two of them used their tongues. “What the hell?!” She widened her eyes in shock. A huge exclamation point plus a question mark emerged in her head. Nyla answered that question for her, “It seems like we made a mistake, L. They are not Cory’s harem but Lennie’s. No wonder they acted so…casual.” Her tone was calm. Elena got goosebumps all over her back. She had never felt so glad to be in that ugly maid uniform instead of those colorful thin dresses those dragon girls wearing. To let her kiss Lennie, she would rather kill herself. “What’s wrong with those dragons?” she couldn’t help but ask. “They can’t live without a harem or what?! Can’t they control themselves?” “They are different species from us,” Nyla let out a miserable sigh. “Maybe it’s their culture. But no matter what, I need you to play along with her, L. We need to get out of here as quickly as we can. I don’t want to…You know what I mean. I will die, L. There’s no way I can stand it.” Elena knew exactly what she meant. She couldn’t stand being part of Lennie’s harem either. To be trapped by Cory was horrible enough, but to mingle with that pretentious dragon princess also?? A rope on her neck would just do the work. Luckily, Lennie seemed to repulse Elena just as much as Elena hated her. After all those dragon girls found their seats along with the table, Lennie finally raised her cold grey eyes to Elena. She gave her a short but snooty glimpse and then lowered her head to pick up the coffee cup from the table. “What’s that, Ash?” She asked in her intentionally prolonged squeak voice, and then said, “I am allergic to filthy things, can’t even look at them. Could you please be a dear and tell me why there is a bedbug standing around my dining table? And it seems to be wearing a maid uniform. Oh, my, the world must have gone crazy.” Several of those dragon girls’ shoulders shook, laughing mercilessly. The others, including Aurora and Bella, looked at Elena worriedly. Elena got furious rage storming her brain but she suppressed it calmly. Either she fought Lennie and was stuck with her and Cory forever, or she played along with Lennie and got the opportunity to escape. She knew which choice was better. “It’s not a bedbug, Your Highness,” Ashely was sitting next to Lennie. She replied to Lennie’s question softly. “It’s that shameless wolf girl who disrespected you. The wolf king sent her to us yesterday as a gift to Your Highness. She is all yours now.” “Huh,” Lennie huffed out a cold laugh, stirring her coffee with the spoon carelessly. “How inconsiderate a man could be? What am I supposed to do with a loathsome bedbug? She is so repulsive and stinky.” “Lots of things, Your Highness,” Ashely spoke gently. Her eyes were filled with tenderness when she looked at Lennie. “We can punish her for what she did to you, like making her clean the bathrooms or cook meals, or even better, we can just degrade her to an Omega and make her live with other Omegas. Then all her old peers and friends in this kingdom can enjoy her service. I’ve heard she isn’t that popular without her wolf king. Lots of wolves hate her for being snooty.” Elena clenched her fists. Fingernails stuck deeply into her palms. It was true. She wasn’t a typical “popular” girl in this kingdom because she had been too obsessed with Cory. She spent all her time with him, which caused her to lose all her friends. Now she had finally learned how stupid it was. Some of those girls her age used to admire her relationship with Cory, but most of them envied and even hated her for that. Imagine how they would react after they heard that Cory not only discarded her but also degraded her to an Omega. They would literally throw a party to celebrate it. And she would be the one who served the drinks to them. “Relax, L,” Nyla comforted her softly. “Even if she made us an Omega, there are still chances for us to escape. Never give up on hopes.” Elena responded to Nyla with nothing, just clenched her fists even tighter. Lennie sipped her coffee very slowly, as if contemplating. After about 1 minute, she finally put the coffee cup down on the table, curling her lips into a vicious smile. “No,” she said. “It wasn’t good enough. I really hate to have bugs around me. It made me sick and uncomfortable. How about-” she paused on purpose, casting Elena another snooty glance before she continued, “How about we sell her to the rogues? I’ve heard rogues are buying girls to breed their offspring recently. I am sure she can pop out some wolf puppies from her big ass.” A few dragon girls laughed again. Elena felt cold sweats on her back. She had heard rumors about wolf trafficking, which was completely illegal in this kingdom, by the way. Still, where there is demand there will be supply. Omega wolves, especially pretty ones, were passed on among different hands secretly. She knew what would happen to those wolves. Even Nyla cowered at the idea of being sold to rogues. “She can’t do it,” she said. “We are still Cory’s mates. Cory will never allow us to leave.” It was ridiculous. One minute ago, they were trying desperately to get rid of Cory. Now there was finally a chance, though just kind of. They were fearing it. Elena’s mind went totally blank. She just stared at Lennie. Lennie curled her lips to another playful smile. She then said, “Ash, take her back home to say goodbye to her old stuff. Tomorrow morning, we will ship her to the rogues. I am sure the Rogue Alpha will thank me for that.” Ashely didn’t cater to Lennie this time. She looked as amazed as the other dragon girls. Lennie was a spoiled princess, but she knew where the boundary was. And she was fond of girls. No matter how huge her tantrum was, she would never do such cruel things as selling them to men. It was a completely abnormal decision for Lennie to make. “Ash?” Hearing no response from her favorite “maid”, Lennie’s tone got impatient. “Didn’t you hear what I just said? Go take her back home.” Ashley stood up from the chair and nodded her head. She looked really confused, but she got herself back together before she reached Elena who was standing outside of the sunshade. “Move,” she said without any emotion in her voice. “You’ve heard what the princess just said. Now we are heading to your home.” Elena pressed her lips, but she said nothing and followed Ashely to walk out of the garden. Getting back to her home was what she wanted. She needed to check if her parents left any messages for her. And she desperately needed some time alone to think about this absurd situation. Before they came to the garden, Nyla had suggested they flee to the rogue’s land. But to escape there was a totally different thing from being sold there. Imagine what would happen to a sold girl, AKA, a slave. She wasn’t naïve, she knew what kind of horrible things could happen to a slave girl. Not to mention that Lennie had made it very clear. Rogues needed girls to breed their offspring. Elene felt sick in her stomach. “She can’t actually do that, right?” She couldn’t help but ask Ashely who was walking ahead of her. “She can’t actually sell me to rogues, or to any others. It’s…” she didn’t know what to say, “impossible.” Ashely turned her head and cast a careless glance at Elena. As soon as she left that dining table, Ashely figured out Lennie must have been playing with Elena. If Lennie really wanted to sell Elena, she would have done it without anyone even noticing it. There was no need to inform her in advance. But Ashley wasn’t going to tell Elena that. There was no need to spoil all the fun. “Why not?” she curled her lips into an indifferent smile. “Rogues are fine, sweetie. I am sure their Alpha will find you a great husband. A high-rank wolf like you is very rare among sold girls. You will be their precious. Maybe the rogue Alpha will just breed you by himself. Trust me, he will be way much better than your heartless wolf king.” Elena felt even sicker. She wanted to vomit but there was nothing in her stomach. After about 30 minutes, they finally reached her home, a two-floor white house at the roadside. When they got nearer, Elena saw the house’s lock was broken and the door was wide open. There were no familiar smells or any other signs of her parents anymore. What Aurora told her was true. Cory had evicted them from the kingdom. She felt even more sick. “Take your time,” Ashely stopped in the front yard and crossed her arms. “This will be the last time you are in your home. Make sure you leave no regrets.” Elena replied to her with nothing and slowly walked inside the door. She felt she was about to faint, but there was a voice in her head, which wasn’t Nyla, telling her not to give up yet. “We must escape, Nyla,” she said, closing the door behind her and leaning against it. “We can’t be sold to rogues, or to anyone. It made me sick.” Nyla didn’t reply to her for a long time. She had been really quiet since Ashely mentioned the Rogue Alpha. After a while, she finally spoke. But her answer surprised Elena. “I don’t know,” she said. “Maybe we should give it a try, L. I want to meet the Rogue Alpha.” Elena thought she had heard it wrong. “What the hell are you talking about?!” she almost yelled. “You’ve heard what they said. He buys girls to breed! He is a beast! Why on earth do you want to meet him?” “Because I am drawn to his wolf,” Nyla whined, which was very rare for a mature wolf like her. She then explained, “I want to meet him, L. I want his wolf. I think he is our second chance mate!”
