The Bridge

In a small town every one knew each other, if there was a gossip the town knew exactly who the gossip was about,  There was bridge you'd of to cross when entering or leaving the small town it was a one way exit. Even though the town was small everyone had everything for their comfort, if you wanted to have dinner there was like three restaurants, if you wanted a job you could go to the local supermarket and ask if any workers are needed, there was a local factory you could work on farms, everyone lived merry because they had everything for their comfort,  Even though there was always drama that would sometimes lead to fights no one would fatally hurt one another and they would always make up and resolve their problems,  In every household every child would hear the story of the bridge, urban legend is, back in the days long before you were born there was a gold table in the water under the bridge that would sometimes show it self on the surface of the water and if anyone ever tried taking it out of the water, the table would drag them inside the water and drown them,  Legend is one time a man took is 8 cows and tied the ropes around the table and ropes around the cow to pull the table out of the water, at first the table was making it self to surface land when the farmer was instructing the cow to pull but something pulled the gold table back into the deep water and the cows along with it and the man along with the cows drowned because his foot got tangled in one of the cows rope. Legend is that many of them have seen a woman sitting on a stone far away combing it's hair and singing, on a rock in the river but when they came closer to see if what they saw is real, it disappears into the depths of the water. Children used to laugh it off because every mother and father tell the tale of the gold table and woman sitting on a stone in the river where the bridge is but none have ever witnessed or saw it with there n***d eye. Grandparents thought there children to always sacrifice a cow on the bridge and let the blood drain into the river or any animal every December 31st before midnight hits because if they did not havoc would come upon them , they always did until every one came to the conclusion and say this is all an urban legend lets cut the crap and not do that anymore! In the year 2022, no animals was sacrificed and a boy named little sammy had a dream(TERRIBLE NIGHTMARE) where he saw a mermaid and the mermaid told him to tell the community that if nothing was sacrificed the town would sink sammy told his parents his parents believed but when they told the community none believed, and they convinced sammy parents that little sammy was just having a nightmare until December 31st 11:50pm sammy awoke from a terrified nightmare sweating and screaming sammy parents ran to his room screaming, asking little sammy what is wrong so sammy told his parents about what the mermaid had dreamt him and they told sammy it was just a nightmare 11:58 the bridge started to collapsed the whole town saw mermaids in the water they were so scary everyone started to scream when water started to rise upon there lands everyone was screaming sammy was telling the truth, houses were starting to get flood parents were running, kids were sreaming, house was collapsing, the earth was shaking,  then everything stopped when they saw sammy ran towards the bridge, cut his arm and dived into the water! He left a note saying please remember me, because i have sacrificed my self for this town as the mermaids have told me to do ?‍♀️  January 1st everyone left the community. Sammy dreamt his parents and told them that he was not dead but alive and he married the king of the sea daughter, and he will re-visit the town in 2050, and they don't ofto sacrifice any thing more to the waters because he has cleared up all his grandparents and great great great great great great great grandparents debt because in the dream according to sammy his and others great great elders stole gold from the mermaid and the mermaid dreamt them to repay them with blood or send a descendant of them to the sea to get married to the marine kingdom and all debt will be payed.
