Chapter Fifteen
It didn’t require a detective to figure out where Jason Mitso had got his wounds. Callan gritted his teeth and stalked towards where he stood on the other side of the counter.
The feartie hid behind Aileen, her petite frame barely concealing him. Aileen’s soft palm collided against Callan’s heaving chest. ‘Callan, he wants to talk to you.’
‘Is that so? Why did he attack ye then?’
He stood close enough to sandwich Aileen between them. And she didn’t move. ‘Please listen to him. I called you here because of what he’s got to say.’
Callan shot a glare at Aileen. What was she playing at? This man had accosted her in the middle of a quiet street last night – hurt her. How could she ask Callan to keep calm and listen to his false words?
