Chapter 5

Carra's P.O.V

I couldn't believe the way I reacted every time I was near him. He just took my breathe away. Look away, Carra, I thought to myself.

“Um-mm so what are you working on" I said clearing my throat nervously.

"I'm painting designs on this booth, he said with a smile.

“They’re coming along really good. You’re very talented.”

“Thanks, it's something that I like to do in my spare time. Drawing helps clear my mind.” He said never taking his eyes off what he was doing.

“What is this booth for?”

“It’s going to be the kissing booth.” He grinned.

“I wonder who's going to be running that booth.” I asked curious.

“Maybe I'll tell Anna to let me run it for a few hours.” I teased.

“Who knows what hot guys I'll get to kiss." I said mostly joking.

"No way." He frowned

"No One touches you but me.”

“The last time I checked Lucas, you don't own me. Your nothing to me for you to be acting all possessive” I said turning to leave.

“I'm sorry Carra, but in case you haven't noticed I like you. I know you don't understand why I'm acting the way I am, but you will, and soon. I just want you to give me a chance, let yourself get to know me that's all I'm asking.”

“Please don't say no, say you will give me a chance.” He pleaded.

How could I say no to that? Just do it Carra you can't live your life scared forever I thought hoping I wouldn’t regret this.

“Fine, I'll give you a chance, but I need you to take things slow like really slow. This in no way means you own me and can tell me what I can and can't do." I said.

“I promise you that I'll never make you regret your decision."

Lucas's P.O.V

"So, to make this official Carra will you be my girlfriend?" I asked hoping she would say yes.

“Do we really have to be boyfriend/girlfriend? Can't we just see where this goes before we take that step."

"Please, just say yes." I said looking at her.

“Ok, I’m going to give it a try but if you get on my nerves I'm so breaking up with you." She laughed.

“Sweetheart you’re never going to want to leave me." I said with a grin.

I would never let her go. She was mine. But I was going to keep that to myself. I didn't want her dumping me. I thought to myself with a laugh.

"Now that we are dating tell me everything there is to know about you?" I said hoping she would.

"How about u tell me about you." She countered.

“I’m a senior which you know. I'm an only child, I could not have asked for better parents. My favorite color is blue. I like basketball I hate football believe it or not. Stephen has been my best friend since we were kids."

"How's it going over here you guys?" Anna asked looking at us both.

"Good, I think that this booth is done. We should be able to start on another one before its time for us to leave.” I said proud of my work.

“Well it looks good guys.”

“I can't take any credit it was all Lucas. I kind of just stood here and kept him company." Carra said with a laugh.

“You kept me motivated.” I laughed.

“Your looking at the new hottest couple.” I said with a grin.

“Really?” Anna asked shocked.

“Why so shocked Anna? I think I’m a good catch.” I teased.

She laughed and turned red.

"I want details.” She told Carra before walking away.

Carra's P.O.V

I could not believe Lucas felt the need to tell everyone that we were dating. He could have at least given me some time for me to get used to the idea first but no. I had no doubt he would yell it from the rooftops if he had a chance.

It was irritating but sweet at the same time. Carra what did you get you self into I thought to myself.

“How was it sis," Eric said pulling me from my thoughts.

"It went okay. Before Lucas tells you...”

“Carra agreed to be my girlfriend." Lucas said before I could finish my sentence.

“I was just about to tell him. Quit telling the entire world.”

“I just want to make sure that people know that you and I are together.” He said with a smirk.

" Why don't you go find Stephen and tell him about it, so that I can talk to my brother.”

“Trying to get rid of me already sweetheart. You’re breaking my heart here. How am I supposed to breathe without you near?"

“Shut the hell up Lucas and go away." I said pushing him away.

“Fine, but only because you asked so nicely. But I’ll be back."

“I have no doubt you will.”

“You can count on it," he said as he walked away.

That boy was going to be the death of me.

"Well that was interesting to watch, Eric laughed.

"I see that you did what you said you were going to do and gave that poor sap a chance. I think that this is a good move for you. As crazy as Lucas can get he's not Adam and I know that he would never do anything to hurt you." He said emotion in his eyes.

How can you be so sure Eric? How well do you really know him?”

“I know him well enough. You can tell a lot about a person by how they carry themselves. He’s a good one.”

“Do you know something I don’t?”

“I do, but it’ not for me to tell. When Lucas is ready he will tell you. You just have to trust that I would never do anything that would cause you to be hurt.” He said.

Why was I getting the feeling that I wasn’t going to like what Lucas was hiding from me?

Lucas's P.O.V

"Bro what the hell has you all happy go lucky?" Stephen asked curious.

"I asked Carra to be my girlfriend and she said yes." I grinned.

"No way bro how the hell did you pull that off?"

"I don't know but to tell you the truth I don't care. All that matters are that I’m a step closer to being able to tell her the truth about us being mates.”

“Can you believe that she said that she was thinking of volunteering for the kissing booth, I about lost it. Now that we are dating though she can't just be kissing other guys. At least I hope she won't because there’s going to be a lot of dead bodies." I growled out.

“You’re going to have to tone down all that possessiveness because she's not going to like that after what happened to her with that jerk of an ex-boyfriend". Stephen said frowning.

"Your right, but it’s hard. You know what they say about how you feel towards a mate, believe me it’s true. Just the thought of her even thinking of someone else has me going crazy. I can't lose her now that I finally found her. I need to tell her about us soon. I just don't want to scare her."

“Give her time to get to know you. By now she should be feeling the pull of being your mate, it won't be long till she won’t want to be away from you. You just have to patient and let it happen. In the meantime, quit acting like such a love-struck girl." He laughed.

“I can't wait till you find your mate Stephen because when you do I’m going to be there to give you hell.”

Carra's P.O.V

The next few weeks flew by and Lucas and I were getting closer and closer. He was so sweet and respectful. He walked me to all my classes. Him and Stephen ate lunch with me Eric and Anna.

We spent our afternoons working on the booths for the carnival and he even drove me to and from school. He had finally asked me if I wanted to go on a date. At first, I had been a little scared, but I had pushed that to the back of my mind and I had said yes.

"When are you going to start getting ready for your date? Eric asked from y doorway.

“In a few minutes. Why?”

“I just wanted to make sure that you didn’t chicken out.” He grinned.

“Ha funny, not happening I’m actually looking forward to it." I shot back.

“It’s good to see you happy again Carra," he said hugging me.

"Now get ready for your date,”he said walking out of my room.

I decided to wear some skinny jeans with a cute top I put my hair in a clip and put some lip gloss and a little eye liner on. I grabbed my cell and headed down the stairs to wait for Lucas.

“You look beautiful," my mom said when she saw me.

"Thanks mom.”

“I’m glad we finally get to meet this Lucas everyone is always talking about." She smiled.

“You guys are going to love him,” Eric said.

The doorbell rang, and my dad went to let him in.

He looked so good in dark jeans and a polo shirt. Every time I saw him he took my breathe away and made my heart race.

"This is Lucas,” I said introducing him to my parents.

"Nice to meet you sir ma am,” Lucas said going to both my mom and dad and shaking their hand respectfully.

"So proper son, I think I like you already." My dad smiled in approval.

My cell started going off in my pocket, but I decided to ignore it.

"Honey aren't you going to answer that,” my mom asked.

“Maybe I should." I said hitting the talk button.

“Baby please don't hang up I love you. Did you honestly think that I wouldn’t find you? Your mine and no one’s going to keep you from me. I'm coming for you.”

“Who is it Sis?” Eric asked.

“Adam,” I said trembling.

Lucas grabbed the phone from my hand and everything went black.
