We are all sitting in the dining room apart from each other as if we were at a business meeting. Noah was gently munching on the food. I need a conversation starter.
"How was the office today?" I ask Noah but his eyes never leave the plate of rice in his front.
"It was lovely I had a very nice day today didn't we Noah?" Nichole asked smirking.
The next words were even a surprise to me that I could put up such an act. "Wow, then I need a new work because my husband and best friend had a blast today," I say trying as much as possible to make sure my smile seems real.
Noah looks up at me for a split second before looking back down. I could tell that Nichole expected me to be sad about her and Noah but I am going to be mature about it.
