Mated To My Ex Boyfriend's Father

(Julia) Sobs racked through my body as I recalled what happened this morning. I didn't want to believe it, even though I had seen it. I curled myself in a fetal position as nonstop tears flowed freely down my cheeks. My wolf Lilly whined as she tried her best to comfort me while failing. I didn't know what to do, all my life I thought that I was going to be mated to my boyfriend, but I was wrong. So, very wrong. Life can be so cruel, right? Just yesterday, Wray and I were sitting down talking about our future and what we expected. I was blinded by love and was ready to give him everything. At the end of the day, he didn't deserve it. Today is my eighteenth birthday. There was a celebration scheduled to take place, but I called it off. I couldn't pretend to be happy when I was not. I told my parents what happened, and they agreed with me, even though they were unhappy about it. Waking up this morning, I was eager to see my boyfriend. We had been best friends since we were five years old, and then we started dating a year ago. I gave him everything that he ever wanted and more. But, he used my weakness and stomped on it. Leaving me broken and empty. “There's something that I need to tell you, Julia.” Wray had said, I could tell that whatever he wanted to say was bothering him. He was the happy type of person, always laughing and making sure that everyone was okay. But this morning, he was different. He had a sad look in his eyes, as he told me that he wanted to break up with me. I begged him, pleaded with him not to do so. Now I knew that there wasn't anything to be done. After he told me that it was over, he told me that he had met his mate and hoped that we could still be friends. I was foolish to agree with him since I now realized that he was never serious about me. The goddess sure has a f****d up sense of humor, right? An omega, by the name of Sophia, accepted him as her mate without even trying to justify it. She knew that he was my boyfriend, yet she acted as if she hadn't. I still remembered the way he walked over to her, the way they kissed as if my feelings meant nothing to them. My parents tried their best to comfort me. There was nothing they could do in a situation like this, so I can't really blame them. Yet, they were happy for Sophia, even when they knew that it was wrong. Everyone knew that she had gone through a lot, so they would be happy for her, I would too if it wasn't such a f****d up situation. I couldn't do anything as I ran from the living room, only to end up locking myself in my room for the rest of the day. A knock sounded on the door, making me groan. “Go away!” I shouted, while throwing the now wet pillow at the door. “b***h, I'm not going anywhere, open the damn door before I kick it down.” my best friend Helene announced. I whimpered as I got out of bed, opening the door, I threw myself at her. She pulled me in for a hug, one that I craved desperately. “Aww, it's okay. It's going to be okay, you'll see.” Helene whispers. I shook my head, knowing that it won't. “What a f****d up thing to happen on your birthday, eh? One person is celebrating, and the other is crying her heart out.” We made our way back to my bed, I didn't let her go even when we sat down. She ran her hand through my hair, soothing the ache that I felt building in my head. “What do you think we should do? Want to go out?” I pulled away from her and sniffled. Did I want to go out? I wasn't sure. I mean, what could I possibly do to get my mind off things? “G-Go out where?” I asked, my voice sounded hoarse to my ears. Helene sighed while shaking her head. I could tell that she was hurting as well, she's a bit overprotective of me and can sometimes act on it. That's why I love her so much. “You have to get something to eat, we can find a Café or somewhere else, or we could just go out and you can get drunk. It's illegal since you are eighteen, and I'm nineteen, but one time won't kill anyone, and we have fake IDs.” I guess she was right, drinking seems to be the only thing that can help me right now, so I nodded my head. I willed back the tears, which had become a bit annoying. I was going to go out and no one could tell me not to. So, with Helene's help, I got ready. She was already dressed, so all she needed to do was grab her purse, and then we could leave. We covered our scent as best as we could, a way to make sure that no one targeted us. No one tried to stop us as we made our way outside, she was the one who was going to drive, which was better since I was in no shape to do so. “So, you chose drinking first. But I suggest we get something to eat first, I'm going to be the DD, so I don't want to drink too much.” I nodded my head, having no strength to argue. Placing my forehead against the cool window. Trying to occupy my mind with something else. I looked outside as we drove by, it was dark, but the street was lit. People were trying desperately to get to their destination. I'm glad that I had a friend like Helene. She knew exactly what to do when I needed her the most. Everyone else was too busy gloating over Sophia to care about my feelings, but she stepped in and made sure that I was okay. That's the true definition of a friend. Hopefully, everything will work out good for the rest of the night. What else could possibly go wrong?
