I got out of class early so I could do my research on the symbols the whole afternoon, I was packing my books in my locker when Mason came up to me. Mason and I have known each other since first grade, I wouldn't say we've ever been very close but the times we do talk, we have a wholesome conversation, and, he's kinda cute...so what if I've had a tiny crush on him, okay it's an average-sized crush. "Uh, hey Robin," he said shyly "Hey Mason, what's up?" I asked "Nothing but I uhh, wanted to ask you if you would-" I dropped my bag and my books and the box went sliding out to the side, Mason bent over to pick the box up. "Ouch!" He shouted and dropped the box "What's wrong?" I asked "The box, it uhm...it pricked my finger" "That doesn't make sense, it doesn't have any sharp edges" "I have no idea and I don't think it was an edge," he said, he got a handkerchief from his bag and covered his index finger that was bleeding a little more than it should have. He walked me to the library and asked me if I wanted to go to Cappa's with him sometimI'm after my heart did so many backflips that I got dizzy, I stomached the butterflies and agreed and we parted ways. When I got to the library, it was almost empty, I set my book bag on one of the study tables and started looking through the shelves for anything that could relate to what I was looking for, I walked over to the librarian's table and asked her if she could help me recognize any of the symbols on the box but she left her reading glasses so I had to draw some of the symbols on a paper in a big font for her, she directed me to the history shelves, as I was walking around the history section I felt that someone was watching me, I looked around but I only saw Azara reading a biology book, I went up to her. "Is it just me or do you also feel like you are being watched in here?" I asked while taking a seat next to her "You know, now that you mention it, the library always has some spooky vibe," she said looking around as if she will find what's making the library creepy. "Are you busy?" I asked Azara "No actually just finished, you need something?" "Yeah, I'm looking for some books on the old town history but I bet it will take ages to find what I'm looking for" "Sure, I can help you, the town history is kind of interesting when you read past the town founder stuff" "Woah, you've read the town history before?" "Only a couple of times so what exactly are you looking for?" "So we found this box in Old Everfall Main..." I explained to Azara "How could the box be empty!" Azara said a little too loud "Quiet Ladies" the librarian warned us "Look at this book, I think it could help," Azara said while pulling a book off the shelf and passing it to me "Great, let's go show everyone else," I said excitedly "Everyone else?" Azara asked "Yeah, you'll see," I said while grabbing my bag and stuffing the box in my bag. "What on earth is so important that you needed to tell us in person?" Nala asked "Okay, now that we are all here-" I began "I've been here a thousand times but I've never noticed that painting" Azara cut in "And what is she doing here?" Nala asked while motioning to Azara "She is helping me, well helping us," I said giving Azara a warm smile Fin burst through the doors looking around like a mad person then he saw us, cooled down, and walked over to where we were seated, he was breathing heavily as if he was just chased by a wild animal. "Hey guys, sorry I'm late" Fin said "Why did he have to come?" Nala asked "Because he is our friend," I said giving him a big smile, he returned the smile with an even bigger smile. "So I called you all here because Azara and I think that there is something up with this box so I went to the library and asked the librarian and she directed me to the old town history section" I explained, "we didn't find much but-" "Is anyone seeing this painting?" Azara said while getting up and going to a waitress "Excuse me, where is this painting from?" She asked the waitress "It was bought from a yard sale when Cappa’s just started out," she said "No one ever asks about it, it's a painting of the old town council having a meeting with the town founders" "Thank you," said Azara with a smile. She turned to the painting, took a picture, got a napkin, and wrote something on it, she came to the table and showed us what she wrote down. "I'm not sure if you can see what we are seeing but I'm pretty sure that's just a bunch of dashes and dots." Fin said "Don't you see, it's Morse code!" Azara said
