Chapter four

"I'm sorry Morse what?" Monty asked

"Morse code, a series of dots and dashes" I added

"But when deciphered..."

__ .__. ..__ ... __ __. __ __ __ __ __ __ __. .

"I still see a bunch of mambo jumbo," said Fin

"All these dashes and dots put together to make words and sentences and this one says" Azara clarified

"Trust no one," I said

"Exactly," Azara said proudly of her finding

"Wow Azara, you make what I found seem so useless" I blurted out

"Well, it kind of is" Azara said

Okay, guys, I think that's enough for today" I said, I got up and walked out of the cafe, grabbed my bike from the bike rack and I went straight home.

When I woke up, I realized I slept in till late morning, I had a pounding headache but I just ignored it. I checked my phone and found a reminder, a wave of butterflies violently fluttering in my stomach came over me when I saw what it was, my date with Mason.

I can't believe I forgot that my crush asked me out, Mason and I are in the same math class this year and I always catch myself looking at him and wondering what it would be like if he did ask me out. And now he did and I was too caught up in trying to figure out what about that box is so important.

I got out of bed, took a shower, and lay on my bed in my robe, I texted Nala and told her that I have a date with Mason but no idea what to wear, for the first time in a long time Nala replied almost immediately but with a call, which was the most rear thing ever.

"So you are telling me that Mason Cornwall asked you out and it just what? Slipped your mind to tell me!?" She screamed

"I didn't think it was of your interest" I replied shocked at her enthusiasm

"Well, it is so tell me everything!" She squealed

When I got home, I couldn't believe I spent most of the day with Mason! After we had some hot chocolate, we went for a walk in the Everfall park, we sat on a bench and talked for what seemed like forever, we got some churros and had ice cream after then he walked me home and hugged me goodbye. I called Nala and told her everything that happened.

"What do you think Monty will say about this?" Nala asked

"Monty and I broke up, he shouldn't have anything to say," I said

"Cappa's for breakfast tomorrow?" Nala asked

"I'm not sure, I'm really tired," I told her

"That's okay, talk to you later." She said and cut the call

I took a quick shower, had dinner with my mom and grandma then I went to bed.

My mom woke me up this morning and opened my curtains, the light was blinding so I turned over in my bed. I stared at the wall thinking about how we were somehow brought together in an attempt to solve a mystery.

Monty is usually hanging out with his rich friends playing golf and preparing to inherit his father's empire, Mason is a star on the swimming team with those brown eyes and strawberry blonde hair and that charming smile that can light up a whole room, Azara, well I don't know much about Azara, I just know her as the girl who is always studying, Fin, Oh Fin, he's just a huge goofball and Nala, I don't think I need to go there.

I looked over and saw Fin FaceTiming me, I didn't notice before because my phone is always on silent, I should stop doing that, I picked up the phone and answered the call.

I answered the phone and saw Monty looking in the other direction talking to someone.

"Hey Monty" I finally said, "I thought it was Fin calling"

"Hey Robin, actually it's all of us" Monty turned the camera, and Fin and Nala were with him at Cappa's.

"Woah, never thought you guys would start hanging out together, not to mention without me," I said with clear hurt in my voice.

"Just come to Cappa's would you," Fin said "And don't forget the box" and he cut the call.

The box? For what, I called Azara and told her to meet me at Cappa's. I got on my bike and cycled as fast as I could.
