The Children Who Are Loved

I live in one of many colonies. The colony I live in is called The Fairies colony, I know it's simplistic, but Fairies are rare and endangered. Especially our children. Fairy children are the strongest and rarest in the land and unfortunately other's have figured this out as well. They are called The Snatchers. They started getting brave, or rather stupid, and invading our colony and snatch our precious children. They enslave them and then sell them to the lower colonies to upgrade their military. Since the first snatching, we've upgraded our military defense and have built massive brick walls with guards at every lookout on top of the wall and at the base. Our commander is Whitehorn, he keeps the children safe and nobody makes decisions for or about them without going through him first. Every day he wakes up the earliest and spends time with our Creator. Him and his wife Rebekah love the children including their own child that was a miracle. If danger is suspected, Rebekah would take the children to our underground bunker where there is a full house like amenities are available. There is a full kitchen, baths, bathrooms, and over 200 fully furnished rooms. It was important to have the children's environment similiar to the one above ground. I am the cook for our colony and it's no easy task to find one thing every day that everybody will like, even though everyone compliments every meal. I think they are just being nice. I have been blessed with three precious children and my whole existance is to love them and keep them safe, knowing and trusting our Creator. Today is a magical day like most days and everybody is doing their duties with smiles and the occasional wave or "hey there". But deep down we're all waiting and watching.
