Polly had a worried look on her face as she went to get the wine for herself. She had all along felt the need to reach out to Wendy but somehow couldn't do so. As she poured the wine into the glass, the sudden thought of quickly going to see Wendy at the hospital gripped her.
But in that instant, the sound of a beep distracted her from her thoughts. She turned around just in time to see her mother taking her phone out of her handbag. A message had arrived and as she saw her mother read the message, the unsettled look on her mother's face caught her attention.
"Good news, mum?" she asked as she came to sit opposite her mother.
"Perhaps." her mother stared at her suspiciously for a few seconds and then got up and went to a corner of the sitting room and dialed the number that had sent her the message. It was Clark Franklin from the agency. She knew anytime he called, there was an emergency.
" Hey Clark Is everything okay?" she asked
"Williams Ortega." replied Clark
"Who?"she asked
"Ortega. He's about to meet the authorities,Patty. It mustn't happen."
"Reason?"
"The Ortega Diaries." replied Clark
"Not much to go for. How much is it worth?" Patricia asked
"That's a list he's carrying.Probably the one Capri had."
"And where is he now?" she asked
"They're meeting at theTrespass Hotel " Clark cut the call immediately, leaving Patricia with no choice but to go after Ortega.
"There's an emergency, Polly. I want you out there in five minutes." she told Polly.
"Great and where to this time?" Polly asked. Patricia looked at her daughter and wondered if telling her to go to the Trespass Hotel would evoke memories of the past, preventing her from going there. She knew it was there Alonso was killed and she had engineered it, making Wendy responsible for the killing.
"I haven't got information yet. Just be out there and I'll feed you with updates along the way." she told Polly.
"I've never worked liked that before." Polly tried to argue, but saw the look on her mother's face. She quickly gulped down her wine and taking her bag, left the house.
When she left, her mother closed her eyes and sighed. She quickly got on the phone again with Clark.
"Hello Patty."
"Clark what information do we have about the Diary?" Patricia asked.
"The Diary contains the same information or maybe a part of the information contained in the Alonso file.""Okay let me guess. So Alonso has the complete file and may have divided it in parts, and a part of it is with Ortega?"
"That's how it looks like." Clarke replied. Patricia sighed her regret at accepting the job of trying to get the file Alonso had long held.
"Anything else, Patty."
"I'm thinking for a minute, if Alonso divided the information contained in the file then Ortega's Diary may just be part of the whole."
"So?" asked Clarke
"Then Ortega is not alone."Patricia replied
"What?" Clark asked almost shouting over the phone. Patricia now knew sending Polly to the Trespass Hotel was going to be a waste. She had to find out where Ortega was and send Polly there.
"Clarke, where is Ortega right now?" Clark looked confused by that question, but knew Patricia asking him that question meant she had her own plans.
"What are you up to Patty?" he asked.
"Just give me the information I asked for."
"That's confidential, Patty." he told her
"Says who, Clark?" Patricia asked raising her voice. Clark kept quiet for a minute knowing that he couldn't reveal to Patricia the fact that her last operation had put the life of Aaron and his team in danger. He cut the call immediately making Patricia wondering why.
