The happiness on Thorian's face wasn't hidden as the guard told him their report on Asmeria. He couldn't believe he finally found her. He was starting to lose hope that he would ever find her. “Where is she? I need to see her now?” Thorian asked as he stood up from his seat. “Lady Asmeria was with her son when we saw her.” The guard said gently and Thorian was totally shocked. He didn't know she already had a child and he knew it could possibly be his. He just had to see for himself. “Where is she?” “She's was spotted in one of the rogue packs.” The guards said and Thorian looked at him in disbelief. “A rogue pack?” “Rogue Rolfe's pack.” The guard said and Thorian went back to his seat, leaning his chin on his knuckles. Why on earth would Asmeria go to an enemy pack? He thought. Was it to get back at him or what exactly was she trying to do? “What else do you know is going on?” Thorian asked him and the guard looked at the clipboard with him. “I've asked some of the men to do findings and she is very close to Rogue Rolfe who is a very good friend and ally of alpha Draven.” The guard said and Thorian's blood boiled as he heard Draven's name. They have both been rivals since he could remember and seeing Asmeria was near him made him even angrier than he was right now. “Why would she even go there. She knows how much I hate those people and yet she still went there to taunt me? What are you trying to do Asmeria.” He growled angrily, slamming his fist against the table as he paced back and forth behind his desk. All he wanted to do was go over to her and get her back for himself. Not to mention, it might be his child she was holding. Why was she doing this to him? “Why are you torturing me, Asmeria. Can't you just get out of my head?” He gritted his teeth and the guard just stood there, making sure there was no eye contact between them. Thorian walked over to the window and looked out the window at the men training down there. “What should I do? How can I get her back?” He asked himself with a low mumble. The guard wanted to say something but he knew he didn't dare if he didn't want to lose his head. “What else did you get on her?” Thorian asked and the gajrd hurriedly spoke up. “She is very close to Rogue Rolfe and alpha Draven invited them to his annual ball. So they both will most probably be in the ball according to every report I have on them?” The guard said and this made Thorian go back to his seat and think about what he just said. “It is a masquerade theme ball this year, your majesty.” He hurriedly added. “I'll go to the ball.” Thorian said as he stood up. The guard looked at him like he was crazy, knowing the kind of relationship between Draven and Thorian. They wouldn't mind killing themselves in front of that many people. “You don't have an invitation, your majesty.” He was reminded by the guard but Thorian just ignored him before walking out of the office. “He is going to cause a war.” The guard whispered before walking out of the office hurriedly. Thorian prepared for the ball and he was secretly glad he was finally getting to meet Asmeria after all these years. If she did have an heir for him, then him dying would not be that bad since he knows he already has a child. “Then why didn't she tell me about it? Father wouldn't have made us break our mate bond if he knew she was pregnant with my child already.” Thorian asked himself as he looked at the unclear painting of Asmeria and the little boy she was holding. The guards had gotten the picture from one of the portrait makers back in the rogue camp. “She's still as beautiful as ever.” He mumbled as he traced her face with his fingers. “I promise to come for you, Asmeria. I'll stop at nothing till I make you my Luna and rewrite all the wrongs I've done to you.” Thorian swore as he placed the picture down and walked over to the masquerade ball costume the maids had arranged for him to select from. The night of the ball came and everyone was busy filing I'm and out of the large venue used for the ball. Everyone seemed to be happily chatting with one another as they moved around with their masks all shifted off their faces. Thorian knew keeping his ok for too long will gain attention so he needed to find Asmeria as soon as possible. After a long time of searching, he finally caught sight of Asmeria, beautifully dressed in a golden dress standing next to Rolfe and talking to Draven. He stayed back, not wanting the two men to see him but he wanted Asmeria alone to see him. Asmeria didn't even look towards his direction and she looked happy chatting with Draven and Rolfe but after waiting and waiting, he finally caught her going out to the balcony, probably to get some fresh air and he followed her immediately. “Asmeria.” Thorian called and Asmeria could recognize that voice anywhere in the world. Even in her dreams. She turned around to look for who just called her and saw Thorian standing behind her with his black mask up. “I finally found you.” “What are you doing here, Thorian?” Asmeria asked with a raised brow. Thorian just chuckle as he looked around. “I came here for you. Do you really think you can run from me? You can't.” Thorian said and Asmeria irritated tried to talk away but he grabbed her hand to stop her. “Please wait, Asmeria. I have been looking for you since all these years, I can't let this chance of making up for my wrong slip by.” “What are you even doing here?” Asmeria said with anger in her voice. “I do not want to talk to you so please do me a favor and just don't talk to me. I don't want to have anything to do with you.” “Please just listen to me and let's talk Asmeria. It has been years and you can't continue like this.” Thorian said to her and to avoid him creating a scene, she decided to hear what he had to say, and seeing this, he was relieved. “How have you been?” He asked her. “Do not talk to me like we've known each other for years and we keep in touch. Get straight to whatever point you have and get out of my life again. You are nothing but a backstabber who promised me he would stand his ground but ran off to chase another woman.” Asmeria reminded him and he scoffed. “Excuse me, do not forget that you stole from me. You stole gold and jewels from me and then ran away after.” Thorian reminded her. “Oh, who knows the so-called Alpha Thorian would be so caught up on taking just a bar of gold where he stored gold and jewels to rot away. Selfish being. And you expect me to stay after what you did? Dream on young man. You are not worth all the sacrifice.” She pointed right at him in anger. “Let's just talk about the main point I'm here. I don't want to get into a fight with you. I just want us to talk.” He said and she folded her arms across her chest, tapping her fooy impatiently under her dress. “Okay, so we're talking?” Asmeria questioned. “I want you back, Asmeria.” Thorian said and Asmeria burst out laughing. He wondered his he said anything funny as she laughed in his face. “Oh my goodness, look at this clown.” She laughed. “Who do you think you are leaving my life and thinking you can come back anytime you like? I am not that same naive girl again, Thorian. I don't want to have anything to do with you. I am happy as I am…” “You don't want to have anything to do with me and still you have my son and didn't get rid of him.” Thorian asked with a raised brow. “Admit it, Asmeria, you don't want to let go of me. I don't want to. I still love you…” A slap landed on his face as he said that. “Shut up.” Asmeria screamed trying hard to force back tears. Thanks to the music playing in the other room, no one noticed the banter outside. “Shut up Thorian. You never did. You never loved me in the first place. Because if you did, you wouldn't have left me for Asannah. And now you want to crawl back into the life of MY son and I to claim nonsense. Please just get out of my face.” Asmeria held back tears as she walked back into the balcony and headed straight to Rolfe who was busy talking. Thorian watched from outside as he treated her with care and asked her if anything was wrong before carefully leading her out. “I promise you, Asmeria. I'll get you. Even if I have to by force.”
