Max...         After Max finished by the stream with chase he was ready to dive back into work with a fresh outlook. Max gathered his clothes from the brush he left them in the quickly dressed. Walking towards the house Max mind linked his third to meet him in the office. They needed to get a handle on this situation and fast. A war was coming and all Max knew from info gathered from all the packs he has spoken within the last three days was that this mystery girl from their prophecy was the key to bringing down the Rogues.         As Max walked into his office he was greeted by this third in command Evan. "Hello Alpha" Evan spoke while taking submitting his neck to his superior. It was a show of respect one Max was grateful for at this time. Especially with the recent passing of his father, the previous Alpha of their pack.         When his father passed there was a formal summons amongst their pack issuing in Max as the Alpha. During this summons, Max made Trevor his betta, and Evans his third. No one can dispute this decision until the official wake and ceremony. It is at that time that the floor is open for any pack member to challenge the Alpha for his title. Should no-one challenge or those who long, do not kill the Alpha the decree of the last alpha stands. If later one pack members decide they want the title than there is an official challenge and five day grace period for both parties to attend to their needs before the challenge is taken on in front of the pack. These have been their customs and ways for as long as their history book has existed. It is also one of the reasons their pack has survived and thrived for this long.        "Hello Evan" Max replied while walking toward his desk. "The wake is tomorrow and we need to get a grip on this rogue problem asap before it is past the point of containment" Max spoke with Alpha authority laced in his voice.        "Yes, Alpha. Would you like me to gather the rest of the pack for a formal summons" Evan questioned?          "Yes, Evan and please call me Max, except when necessary" Max replied "I picked you has my third because you are the brightest I have," Max spoke with an affectionate tone. "We were never really friends growing up here, but you are a valuable asset to this pack and I wanted to honor that by giving you the title" Max stated bluntly, causing Evan to blush and smile.        "Thank you! Max, it does mean a lot to me" Evan responded. "Should I gather the rest so we can discuss the situation with the pack?" Evan asked Max while gesturing towards the day. Evan was never the type to be openly affectionate around men, he preferred the affection and endearments where women were concerned. It felt more natural. It could have had something to do with upbringing in a broken home with a loving mother and hard ass of a father.       "Yes, but first I would like you to go over the findings and create a spreadsheet of sorts of the facts and the questions. Information we have and information we will need to proceed and how we might be able to obtain that information. If you could make copies it would be great as well I would like to hand them out" Max spoke as he received a box from one of the office draws with at least 200 file folders.         "Yes, sir," Evan replied "Max" he hastily added while catching the ass end of one of Max's infamous death glares. "Will there be anything else?" Evan asked while starting up at Max from behind the desk stacked with unorganized papers strewn about the desk and office floor.        "Yes, I would like everyone gathered in about an hour or so in the main hall" Max started "If possible, if you could create a PowerPoint with the info it would be greatly appreciated" Max spoke while he retrieved a flash drive from a cabinet draw and handed it to Evan. "I believe the projector is still in the main hall from my fathers last meeting in there, but it would be safe to check"        "Will do Max. I will see if Mike is busy to lend a hand" Evan replied.         "Oh if hours not good we can move it till later on tonight. I want to shower and check on the ceremony hall to make sure things are coming along for the wake tomorrow and to check on things at the bar, for an informal wake with family friends and pack members interested in some free food and drinks.         " Yes, sir! It would probably be best to do it this evening say before dinner time. That way I can get a better understanding of what we have and we can all digest over food" Evan replied.        "I will let you take the lead on that" Max responded making Evan blush again. "Mind link me if you have any questions about the information" Max quickly added before racing out the door to his person suite to shower and dress yet another long day.        The rest of Max's day went off without a hitch. Evan's mind linked him earlier to clarify who Maggie was and he connected to our situation was, but other than that Evan was busily working away. He stopped in the kitchen to check on home arrangements for tomorrows wake we're, while grabbing a quick bite before heading out to the garden.        When Mike exited the formal ballroom he was welcomed to the sight of a beautifully decorated back garden. They had spared no expense on this event. Small tables lined the garden with a small area for their DJ to set up for tomorrow. A small stage at the back had been set up for the wake and Alpha appointing ceremony. Flowers and lights we're being hung throughout the garden for nighttime and preparations were being made to transform the inside should the weather not hold up tomorrow.       After speaking with the lead decorator Mike was confident they didn't need their help with anything and decided to call his head fighters who were currently in the city. "Hey, Tony! Can you a Johnathan meet me at the bar when you're finished with your meeting in the city?" Max asked over the phone as he headed to his car parked outside. "I have somethings I'd like to discuss with you"        "Sure thing Alpha were almost finished here and can meet you at the bar around say 3:30 pm if that works for you?" Tony replied.         Max looked down at his watch it was already 2 pm which would give him plenty of time to get to the bar and meet with his contractor if traffic wasn't too bad. "Sounds good I'm leaving the packhouse now and heading straight there" Mike responded.       "See you then Alpha" Tony spoke before hanging up the call. Mike placed his phone in the cup holder in his two-door truck and started the engine. Making a note to fill up the tank before he left the city Mike slowly made his way to his bar.      After forty minutes of driving Mike finally arrived at the bar and parked his truck in the lot at the back on f the building. The building was three levels and a basement. The main floor was the bar/club and housed leather booths, a bar a large dancefloor with DJ booth, and a stage for dancers. The bar had a full kitchen and a tasty menu. Two cages hanged above the dancefloor for dancers on a club night.       The top floor was his and Trevors new home once this place opened. The basement housed a private party booth which would be bounced by a few pack members who applied for the job. The second floor would be used as a new and improved pack office space for Trevor, Evan, and himself.       Evan was going to stay at the packhouse once the bar took off and would bounce back and forth as needed. Whereas Max and Trevor would primarily be here except when necessary.       Mike spoke with the contractor on site and was impressed with how close to being done they were. It had been a long haul one they had started long before he had become Alpha but it was one he was still excited about. Here he wouldn't be the son of a respected Alpha or a multi-billionaires son. Here he would just be Max a man looking for something simpler in life. His father's death really altered this dream Trevor and he had growing up. Heck life in general did, but they were both in their early thirties, unmatted and looking for their next big adventure.        When 3:30 rolled around Max headed outside to meet up with tony and Johnathan. They were definitely dressed for business whereas Max was dressed in worn-out jeans and work boots. He can here to work, but most of the work was done.      As Max was leading Tony and Johnathan inside Max stopped dead in his tracks. Raspberries, Fresh Flowers, and morning dew. Max was overcome by the smell. As he turned around to see where the smell was coming from Max noticed cars passing by one in particular caught his attention as it was driving by extra slow.        Could it be her? The woman he has waited for his entire life? Max thought to himself as he tried to see who was driving the jeep with a tinted window, rolled down slightly. Just enough to allow her scent to wash over him.
