***Bella's POV***
Hey my name's Bella, and I'm 23 years old. I moved to Miami with my mom when I was 8 years old, and ever since I've had a best friend by my side since day 1 of me moving here, her name's Anna- Marie we have become inseparable over the years and when she turned 12 she moved in with us. She's like my sister and we have done almost everything together.
When mom died a couple months back I was lost and alone but Anna was by my side through it all. Even though she wasn't actual family she was still there for me, and I consider her my family. More than I can say for my own brother Davie and my father Raymond. I haven't seen them in 15 years, they live in California on the other side of the United States. But they should have at least come to the funeral if not for my mom then at least for me.
While I was going through my mom's house I saw a letter with my dad's number on it. I debated on calling the number. Especially since they didn't come to the funeral. Anna kept telling me to call and I just kept debating. Instead of calling we just flew down and booked a hotel room at The Ritz. And that's where we are now waiting for morning to go and meet my father and brother.
I wonder what it's going to be like to see them after all these years? I ask myself drifting off to sleep. Then my mind wanders over to my brother's best friend Jackson and I can't help but wonder if he's still around and if I'll get to see him. I wonder if he's still as cocky, or as perfect as he use to be. I liked him a lot. He was beyond perfect for an 8 year old at the time.
When morning breaks through the windows of the hotel room I cover my face so it's dark again but Anna wasn't having it. "Get that tanned ass up babe. Today's the big day!" She sounds too chipper this morning and knows that I absolutely hate being woken up before I'm absolutely ready. "f**k off!" I groan out, not ready to wake up and definitely not ready to get out of this bed yet. "Come on! You need to get up babe. We are meeting your dad and brother today!" She says in excitement more than I have for meeting them. "Ughhh... Go away!" I groan out, sleep over taking my eyes again, but she is just jumping up and down on the side of the bed being f*****g annoying. "Uh, uh babes. You need to get up and take a shower and get ready for today..."
I groan and b***h as I get up out of the bed. "Seriously! You are so f*****g annoying this morning." I say with some sass. She just shrugs it off and smirks. " What are best friends for babe." I reluctantly get up and grab my outfit for the day which consist of black dress pants and a white Lacy dress top. I go to the bathroom for a nice hot shower.
Once I'm done showering and getting dressed. Anna comes back from calling for a cab to my dad's address written on the very old envelopes. "Are you nervous babe?" She asks me. And the whole time all I can think nothing else but YES I'm nervous. 15 years is way to long. "Yes I'm very nervous... 15 years is way to long and I don't want to f**k up and dredge up the past. The past that didn't really include them in my life. Or not coming to mom's funeral when I needed familiararity of family there with me. I know I have you and I'll forever be great full for that but they should have come to see me at the very least..."
A tear was about to fall but I pushed it back, it was a sign of weakness and I wasn't one to be weak. I had to be strong, always having to be strong for everybody around me. "It'll be fine babe. Trust me I'll be with you and just remember babe stay calm. Now let's go our cab is probably waiting downstairs by now."
We get up and link our hands together and walk out to the waiting cab. Once in the cab we set off to my dad's last known address. About 20 minutes later and we are pulling up to a large as f**k white house and there's a large pool outback. We pay the cab driver and thank him. We walk up the driveway hand in hand and up the stairs of the house.
Once we got to the door I was about to knock but a big muscular tattooed god answered he seemed familiar to me. "Can I help you?" He asks. "Umm. Yes. I was hoping you could tell me if Raymond and Davie still lived here?" I asked him with a big smile. "Who might I say is asking?" I smirk at his trying to get my name. "That's for them to know and you to find out...." I smile this has to be Jackson he is a god now. " Can you please get both of them. I need to talk to them."
He smiles and gives me a wink before he turns back to the door. "You ladies wanna come in and wait while I get 'em for you?" We don't answer just follow him through the door. "Wait right here I'll be back." I smile and say; "Okay." I hear him down the hall hollering for Raymond and Davie. "Raymond, Davie there's someone here for you guys..." I hear another voice cut in. "Who is it?" He asks. "I don't know they said they had business with you two. Um, two girls and one kind of looks familiar."
I smile at the fact he was just talking about me. All three men come around the corner and looks over at Anna and then there eyes settle on me. I wonder if the recognize me at all? "Umm, dad? Davie?" I say almost shy. Then it hits them, all 3 to be exact. I'm back... "Bella... Is that... Is it really you?" Davie asks. I nod not knowing what to say my dad runs up to me and squeezes the life out of me. "...Can't...Breath...." Out of breath and gasping as he finally let's me go.
"Sorry baby girl I just can't believe you're here... When did you get in?" He asks me. " Umm. We got in last night..." I say as he leads all of us down the hall to which I can only assume is his office.
