The next moment, a claw swipe appeared out of nowhere cutting deep into my back and immediately my figure flashed. At the next moment, a huge black wolf appeared just right where I was standing.
"Ahhhh!"
Ember gasped and I could feel her heart beating fast and it was as though it might burst out through her chest. But that was what I cared about the least at the moment. What I wanted was to leave.
I had miscalculated and Alpha Asher had caught up to us. If not for my sharp senses, Ember would have been gravely injured with that claw swipe. This was bad, I wasn't going to stop until I reached the cottage.
