In the tense silence that followed, Claire decided to try a different approach. "Alpha Dominic, please just talk to me," she pleaded. "I know you're upset, but I'm just trying to understand what's going on. You can tell me anything, and I promise I'll listen."
For a moment, Alpha Dominic said nothing. He simply stood there, his face a mask of impassivity. But then, slowly, his expression began to soften.
"I don't have anything to say, just go back to your apartment," Alpha Dominic replied in a curt manner, his alpha dominance evident in his tone.
"I know you won't say anything, but you will surely hear from me," Claire retorted, her anger evident as she turned to leave. There was an unsettled tension between them, their unspoken feelings hanging heavily in the air.
