Waves lapped against her rock on the edge of the Endless Sea. A whale’s fluke cut through the water in the distance. Maggie laughed as the whale spun lazily in the sea. “There are such pleasures to be found in the Siren’s Realm,” Bertrand said. “Bertrand!” Maggie hadn’t known he stood beside her until she heard his voice. “It really is a wonder all the populations of every known world have not found her realm or died in the attempt to seek her.” Bertrand didn’t look at Maggie as he spoke.
