Stranded: Beneath the Endless Sky follows Elias Navarro, a programmer who finds himself stranded on a remote, uncharted island after a cruise ship disaster. Along with a group of survivors, including Mei-Lin Wynn, a beautiful but stubborn woman, Elias must navigate the brutal challenges of the island’s wild terrain and their own fractured group dynamics.

As they struggle to survive, they uncover mysterious ruins and encounter strange sounds that suggest they are not alone. Trust is hard to come by, and with each passing day, Elias and Mei-Lin must confront their darkest fears—both of the island and of each other—before the island claims them all.

Chapter 1
The gentle sway of the cruise ship lulled Elias Navarro into a state of rare relaxation. Leaning against the deck rail, he gazed out at the endless blue of the Indian Ocean. For the first time in months, his laptop was nowhere near, and the buzz of code wasn’t running in the back of his mind. “A paid vacation,” he murmured to himself, still in disbelief. His company, one of the top tech firms in the country, had decided to reward their overworked employees with a week-long luxury cruise. Elias had reluctantly agreed, only after his manager insisted he take time away from the screen. Elias glanced around. Co-workers laughed by the pool, drinks in hand, sunbathing and flirting as if the world outside didn’t exist. Elias managed a polite smile when someone waved at him, but he kept mostly to himself. Social settings weren’t his strength, and he’d never been much of a drinker anyway. He preferred the quiet corner of the deck, away from the noise, just him and the ocean. He allowed his mind to drift, imagining the greasy perfection of a triple cheeseburger—melted cheese, crispy bacon, a buttered bun… Boom. The daydream shattered. The deck trembled beneath his feet. A deafening explosion tore through the belly of the ship, followed by screams. Smoke rose upward, as another explosion rocked the vessel. Panic spread like wildfire across the ship. People were running in every direction—some screaming, others frozen in fear. The loud wail of alarms echoed through the chaos. In the distance, Elias could see fire bursting from the midsection of the ship, flames rapidly spreading across the deck. The ground shook violently beneath his feet, sending Elias stumbling backward. Before he could regain his balance, something—or someone—crashed into his side. He and the other person fell hard against the deck, the impact knocking the air out of his lungs. "This is real," Elias thought, his heart pounding in his chest. The ship was burning. It was sinking. His mind raced, trying to process the situation. The realization hit him like a punch to the stomach: there was no time. He had to act, and fast. Without even thinking, he scrambled to his feet, spotting an emergency cabinet nearby. His hands shook as he yanked it open, pulling out a life jacket. He quickly strapped it on. He glanced around, trying to find a clear escape route. The flames were getting closer, and the sounds of screams filled the air. People were pushing and shoving, desperately trying to reach the lifeboats. But Elias knew there was no time to waste—he couldn’t afford to wait for the lifeboats. He ran toward the edge of the deck, dodging flames and people in panic. His heart raced as he reached the railing. He didn’t look back. There was no time to look back. Without a second thought, Elias leaped over the railing and plunged into the icy sea below. Cold water rushed over him as he sank beneath the surface. The shock of the cold took his breath away. He kicked his legs and pushed himself back to the surface, gasping for air. The salty taste of the sea filled his mouth, but he forced himself to stay calm. He needed to keep swimming. As he surfaced, he saw pieces of the ship floating in the water around him, pieces that were on fire, burning and scattering across the ocean. He could hear the desperate cries of people nearby, some clinging to wreckage, others disappearing beneath the waves. Elias pushed himself harder. The lifeboats were nowhere in sight. The ship was sinking fast. Behind him, he could see the burning wreckage of the ship slowly disappearing beneath the waves. The water around him was full of debris, making it harder to keep swimming. His life jacket kept him afloat, but it felt like a struggle to stay above the surface. His body was exhausted, but Elias kept swimming but there was no turning back. He couldn’t stop. Then, just as he thought he might collapse from exhaustion, darkness closed in.Everything went quiet as the world around him disappeared into blackness. --- A soft breeze tickled Elias’s cheek. Beef. Pickles. Melted cheese. Elias lips curved into a sleepy smile. The smell of a grilled burger was so real that he could almost taste it. His stomach growled, and he reached out, thinking he was touching the burger. A sharp scream shattered the quiet “Get your hand off me, you pervert!” Elias’s eyes snapped open. He wasn’t in his bed. He wasn’t in a burger joint. Instead, beneath him, where he expected to find a hamburger, his palm was pressed firmly against something far more soft —a woman’s chest. The woman beneath him, a vision of beauty even with anger blazing in her eyes, was trying to wriggle free from him. Her long black hair stuck to her shoulders, strands flickin. Her swimsuit was torn in places, it left little to the imagination. Her hand was already rising to form a blow. Smack! The blow landed across Elias’s cheek. His head snapped to the side. Wait! Wait! I wasn’t— I didn’t mean to!” he blurted, sitting up so fast he nearly fell over again. His hand flew away from her chest like it had been burned. “I thought it was a hamburger!” The woman stared at him, she was stunned into silence. “…A hamburger?” she repeated. “I—I was dreaming. About food. Not—look, I didn’t even know you were there, I swear!” Elias stammered. “Last thing I remember was… the explosion. The cruise ship…” The woman blinked again, still frozen beneath him. Then, slowly, she pushed herself up to sit, brushing sand from her arms and chest with a scowl. “Wait. The cruise ship?” she echoed. “You were… you were on it too?” Elias nodded, rubbing the red mark on his cheek. “Yeah. I work for one of the companies that organized the trip. We were a few days in. Then—boom. Fire. Chaos. And I jumped.” She stared at him. “I remember the noise,” she said softly. “And the smoke. I didn’t know what to do. I—I think I blacked out. I was in my cabin when it happened…” Elias looked around them for the first time since waking up. Endless ocean swam beyond the shore. Behind them, thick palm trees and untamed green brush towered like a jungle wall. There was no sign of buildings. No people. No boats. No rescue. “Where… where are we?” the woman whispered. He didn’t answer at first. The truth hung heavy in the silence. No need to sugarcoat it. “It seems we’re stranded,” Elias said quietly. “On an island in the middle of nowhere.” The woman's eyes widened as the words sank in. She shook her head slowly, then faster, like she could shake away the truth. “No… No. No, no, no!” Her’s voice climbed higher with each word. She backed away from the water’s edge, arms flailing as if she could slap sense back into the horizon. “That’s not possible! Someone will come. They have to—this can’t be real!” “We were on a cruise! People saw us board! My family… they’ll notice I’m missing!” Tears sparkled on her lashes in the harsh sunlight, then slipped down her cheeks. Elias watched her, Around them, the island was eerily silent—no distant engine drone, no cry of bird, only the whisper of palm fronds and the lazy curl of waves. He felt a tight knot in his chest as he met her gaze—eyes wide with disbelief. There was no rescue coming. Not here, not now. Just the two of them, and the island .
