POV Meghan - September 8
It scares me seeing Liv passed out on the couch. I run outside, hoping to see my parents didn’t leave yet. But when I get to the front porch, I don’t see their car, so I know they’re already gone.
I quickly link my brother “Aiden, where are you?” “I’m in my room, why? Did something happen?” he links back. Worry clearly present in his voice, he must have picked up on my panicking. “Yes, something did happen. Liv passed out. Mom and Dad already left, and I don’t know what to do!”
“What!” my brother shout through the link “Liam and Lucas will kill you if something happens to her!” “Don’t blame me” the worry I feel for my friend gets the best of me and I am starting to lose my cool “you guys told me to talk to her and find out if she knows something about the existence of werewolves. But can you please get here now?” “I’ll get the twins. We’ll be there in about ten minutes” Aiden replies and closes the link.
I’m pacing back and forth in the Livingroom. I swear, these ten minutes are the longest ten minutes of my life. I almost link my brother, wanting to ask how lang it’s going to take when I hear the front door swing open. And I finally see my brother storming into the room with the Alpha Twins following behind him. When Lucas sees Liv lying on the couch, he lets out a low, dangerous growl. “What happened to her?” He looks at me, his eyes raging with fire, and it’s very clear to me that he is finding the urge to shift.
I try to look up at him, but with his Alpha Aura coming of him as strong as it is now it’s nearly impossible for me to look at him. “We were talking, she askes me all these questions about things she noticed that seemed of to her. And she was right! Well at least if we were human. So, I asked her what she knows about werewolves, she told me she has seen some movies. And when I told her I was one and she’s currently on this territory, she passed out. Then I panicked and linked Aiden because Mom and Dad already left the house. And now you guys are here” I explain to the three boys.
Lucas calms down a little and his aura disappears. Because of this I’m able to look up and find the twins sitting on the couch next to their Mate. The look in their eyes shows so much love towards my, still passed out, friend that it makes my wolf whimper in my head. Longing for my own mate. But I know I’m to young to find him. I just turned 17 and since wolves can find their mate as soon as they turn 18, I’ll have to wait at least another year. Thinking about this makes me wonder “how is it possible that you guys found her? I mean, she is not 18 yet” I ask to no one in particular. Liam looks up at me “we had the exact same question. But it’s probably because she is human. We did some research, and it has happened before. It’s very rare but apparently possible. In both cases we found the human was also under the age of 18.”
Then he looks back at Liv and strokes her hair softly. I try to focus on her heartbeat and her breathing. That’s when I notice she is barely breathing and instantly I panic again “guys, her breathing!” The twin’s eyes widen. I look at my brother, not knowing what I should do or if there’s something I can do. Aiden’s eyes haze over for a minute before he turns to Liam and Lucas “I’ve linked the pack hospital. Let’s go now!” Both of them nod their heads and Liam carefully lifts Liv in his arms and the four of us run towards the hospital.
POV Lucas – September 8
I slam the door from the pack hospital wide open and call out for a doctor. Callum, the head doctor, comes running at us and motions towards a room. “You can place her here!” We hurry into the room and Liam carefully lays our beautiful Mate in the hospital bed. “What happened to her? Also, I can’t sense her wolf, am I right?” Callum asks. I nod “she’s human. She passed out when Meghan told her about our kind and when we arrived her breathing changed. That’s why we came here!” I explain surprised about my own calmness. This calmness is quickly changes when Callum tells us the leave the room so he and his team can do their job.
Asher takes over control within a second and growls loudly. “She’s mine! I’m staying here!” I feel a hand on my arm and turn around to face my brother. “Asher, this isn’t working. Please give control back to Luc so we can leave the room. Her health is the most important thing right now. And if you act like this the doctors can’t do their job and Liv will suffer the consequences” he tries reasoning my wolf. It seems to work because he retreats to the back of my mind, giving me control back. I look over my shoulder one more time to see the doctors very busy around Liv. And then follow my brother out of the room. On the hallway we’re met by the worried faces of our Beta and his sister. Liam and I both shake our heads, signalling that we don’t have any news yet. And all we can do is wait and hope nothing serious is happening.
We sit down in the small waiting room down the hall. Meghan sighs and lays her head on her brother’s shoulder. Tears are rolling down her cheeks. “What’s wrong Meg?” Aiden asks her while stroking her arm. “I feel guilty” she sniffs. “Don’t be, it’s not your fault. Liam and I should’ve been there like we discussed beforehand. The Mate bond would have been able to calm her down and probably prevent her from passing out.” I tell her. My brother looks at me with a surprised look on his face “what?” I snap at him. Liam shakes his head “nothing, I’m just surprised about your behaviour. You’re calm!” I shake my head in disbelief “well, I’m definitely not feeling calm at the moment. All I can think about is her!” Liam nods “I know the feeling. When she wakes up, we should have a chat with her” he says while looking at Aiden and Meghan “the two of you should be there too. Aiden, you’re very good at explaining things and she knows and trusts you, Meghan.”
Five minutes later I hear footsteps coming in our direction and finally Callum’s face shows up around the corner. “She’s awake and perfectly fine. You can go and see her, I’ll be in my office if you need me.”
My brother and I quickly jump on our feet and run towards the room where our mate is staying. When we enter the room, her head shoots up and she stares at us. “Mine!” she says. Confused about her own behaviour she shakes her head, but I couldn’t be happier and I know Liam is feeling the same as well.
