Chapter 3

1189 Words
POV Liam - September 7 As soon as the gates to our territory come in sight, Lucas gets rid of his seatbelt “Liam? Can you please stop the car, I need to run home?” I sigh and pull over, the car hasn’t even come to a stop before he jumps out, his clothes tear of his body and three seconds later Asher runs into the forest. “Please, be safe. I’ll let mom and dad know you’ll be home later” I link him. For a second, I wonder if I should follow him, but I know it won’t do him any good. He needs to be alone right now. Knowing my brother’s wolf, Lucas will have a hard time getting him under control again. Being Alpha wolves, Asher and Connor are both quite aggressive, the aggression being activated by different types of emotions. And right now, the urge to get to our mate, claim her and seal the mate bond is extremely big. With those feelings comes the possessiveness forward that is present in us, werewolves, but with Alpha’s it’s even worse. Alpha wolves are very protective and possessive towards what’s theirs. If it’s their mate, their family, their pack or their land it doesn’t matter. We’ll doing anything to keep it safe and sound! Comparing both our wolves, Connor and Asher fit the stereotype Alpha wolf description perfectly. But for some reason Asher is even worse. He gets aggressive easily and he is also way more protective than Connor. In the past it’s been incredibly difficult for Lucas to maintain control over his wolf. Becoming adults has been helpful with that, but only since the Alpha training we’ve had he has been able to manage the control perfectly. While thinking about the past, I make it home and park my car in front of the pack house. When I get out of the car, my mom shows up on the stairs leading to the front door. “Are you alone?” worry slips through her voice. I nod my head “Lucas had to let Asher out for a run.” My mom raises an eyebrow at me “I thought he had Asher under control?” I take a deep breath “he did, but today has been incredibly challenging for the both of us.” I hesitate for a moment and then continue speaking “we’ve met our mate. But the situation is a little bit difficult, so we couldn’t get to her. Connor and Asher are a little pissed off about the whole thing” I explain to my mother.  “Why is it difficult?” my mother asks, clearly not convinced yet. “She is human, and from what occurred so far, we don’t think she knows about the existence of werewolves.” Suddenly I hear my dad’s voice behind me “and what are you boys planning to do now. Please tell me you’re going to be gentle and not scare the girl” I shake my head “no, we don’t want to scare her. That’s the last thing we would want. We have a plan, at least for now” My dad hums and makes a hand motion, signalling me to keep talking.  “Okay, look. She was sitting next to Meghan, Aiden’s sister, so we thought we’d talk to her tonight. See what she knows and what she maybe can find out.” I explain our plan in making. Dad nods his head “that is indeed a very good start. Please keep me updated.” I nod my head in my father’s direction. After that my father places his hand on my mother’s back and they walk inside the pack house. Just as I’m about to follow them, I hear something in the tree line. Turning around, I see my brother’s wolf standing there. “Li?” I hear over mind link “Can you please bring me a pair of shorts? My clothes were shred to pieces during the shift” The two of us, coming from opposite directions, head towards my car. I grab my spare set of joggers out the trunk of the car and pass them to Lucas. Lucas shifts back into his human form and quickly puts the joggers on. “I think it’s time to ask our Beta if he can get his sister to come over. See if she knows more than we do” Lucas says and we both head inside the pack house.  We head straight to the third floor; on this floor the current Beta and Gamma have their bedrooms. As well as spare bedrooms for when they have children. On this floor there is also a shared Livingroom and kitchen for the Alpha, Beta, Gamma and our mates. One floor up, on the fourth floor, the Alpha Family has their bedrooms. Then, on the second floor we have guestrooms for the guests in higher ranks. Those rooms are only used when we have Alpha’s or their Beta’s from neighbouring packs are coming over for a visit. On the first floor there are bedrooms available for pack members who want to stay in the pack house. And then on the ground floor, there is another Livingroom and kitchen the only difference being is that on this floor everyone is allowed access. We find our Beta playing videogames in the upstairs Livingroom with our Gamma. “Aiden!” I yell his name. His head snaps up and he looks at me, a questioning look in his eyes. “Is your sister home?” Lucas asks. Aiden’s eyes glaze over for a minute, probably mind linking Meghan. “Yes, she is. Why?” he asks. “Can you please ask if she can come her, like, right now? It’s important” Lucas says to him while laying down on the couch. Aiden’s eyes glaze over for a couple of seconds and after that he faces my brother and I. “She is on her way, but what is so important that she needs to come over?”  I look at Lucas trying to get him to explain since I already did to mom and dad. “We found our mate!” Lucas says. He immediately raises his hand as a sign he is not done talking yet “but it’s going to be a bit complicated” he adds. Aiden looks even more confused “it’s great news that the two of you found your mate, but I still don’t get what my sister has to do with it” “Your sister” Lucas starts “was sitting next to her in class.” He says hesitantly, trying to find the right words. “So, what do you need Meghan for?” Connor looks up from his videogame. “Our mate is human and maybe Meghan knows more than we do” I finish my brother’s sentence because he still seems to be unable to find the right words.  The door swings open “what do I know about who?” Meghan asks while entering the room.
