Rose:
The manager, Ms. Duncan, was extremely nice. As soon as I walked in she came to greet me and she treated me so nicely, especially when I asked for an application form. She said that she needed more staff desperately, and especially young girls and boys like myself. She said something along the lines of that it's good for publicity.
I had already received a form and the due date for the form but I wanted to wait for Faith a little bit longer as she was still busy on her side of the road, so I wandered around the store, looking at the different movies and music discs that they had to offer. I gasped when I saw one of my favorite movies of all time just sitting there, no one even looking interested in it.
"Hm, do you like Mama Mia?" Ms. Duncan asked, coming up behind me, looking at what I gasped at.
"Are you kidding me? I love this movie! Sure it is a musical, and most musicals are annoying, but the story line and the music is so amazing, it's difficult to not get soaked up in the movie, and don't get me started on how perfect the actors and actresses were for their roles. It was an amazing movie with so much potential, but sadly it isn't that well known since most people don't like musicals."
"I like how your eyes light up whenever you talk about something you are passionate about. It's refreshing. You know, you might even get the job without even needing to fill in the application form if you carry on looking like a kid in a candy store whenever you look at the movies," She laughed, and I instantly looked down, blushing like crazy.
"Aw, don't be embarrassed little one, it's an amazing quality to have, especially in this type of industry. I think you would do good here, but fill out that application form and give it to me tomorrow afternoon, before 5 okay? But something tells me that you won't need the form to help you at all, if you know what I mean," She said, winking in my direction. We both started laughing and then I realized that Rose just walked into the store... Oh no, she doesn't know about the girl that works the cash register! The real reason why I walked into the store!
Just then, the girl walked out from the backroom, came up to me and gave me a huge hug and a kiss, "See you tonight sexy," She said to me, giving me one last kiss before walking back to her chair, swinging those sexy, curvy hips, knowing fully well that I was looking.
She was on the bus with Faith and I, and I couldn't stop staring. My, oh my, was she gorgeous. Soon, I got up to stretch my legs a bit and walked around the bus (an excuse that I used to go and get a closer look at the girl) as I was about to walk past her seat, she grabbed me and pulled me down onto her lap.
"Hey there, Gorgeous, I noticed you staring at me earlier and I must say, don't stop. You are gorgeous and I love the attention that you are giving me," She said, smirking at me.
I just sat there, as red as a tomato, not knowing what to say or do, so I just sat and stared with my mouth opening and closing, not knowing what to say. Eventually, I just nodded while still staring at her.
She giggled and shook her head at me.
"You should come past the DVD and CD rental store in the next town. I work there, maybe after my shift we can grab a bight to eat, my treat," She said, smiling at me.
I nodded and smiled back.
So that is why I came to the shop in the first place, but lucky for me, there was an open position as a stock clerk. So obviously, I jumped to the opportunity and said yes. Not only do I get to have a job, I get to work with the most gorgeous woman I have ever met! And she's into me too!
As she left, I said goodbye to the manager, I walked towards Faith who was standing by the horror movie section, staring at me wide-eyed and mouth open.
"You- You- YOU ARE INTO GIRLS?!" She screams. I put my hand in front of her mouth and a finger on my lips to show that she must be quiet. She nodded and I removed my hand.
"Why didn't you tell me?" She asked, hurt.
"I'm sorry Faith, it's never come up and I was scared that you would judge me or be disgusted by it. I'm really sorry, I was just scared." I said, grabbing her hands, looking into her eyes, mine pleading for forgiveness.
"It's okay, but you shouldn't be scared to tell me these things, I am your sister, I will always be there for you no matter what. Now let's go, we need to find a place to sleep tonight, maybe a run down motel will have a room that we will be able to afford for the next week or so. We will also need to get started in filling in these application forms, okay?"
"Okay," I said, she was acting strong for me. She was being my rock like she always has been, acting like me not telling her my sexuality didn't hurt her as much as it actually did, but I know how much it hurt her, no amount of bravery or mask that she puts on can hide it. I am her sister, I can see through it. Especially after everything we have been through.
She has always been my protector. Ever since our parents started beating us, we weren't allowed friends or anybody else over nor were we allowed to go out with them. Our parents isolated us, kept us from the world so that what they were doing to us was kept a secret and they wouldn't get caught. Ever since then it's always been Faith and I. She always protected me from the bad, no matter how much of a beating she would receive for it from our parents or from kids in our school. She always stayed strong, and it was always for me, and I will always be thankful for that. Thankful that she's the reason why I'm still alive. She will always be my big sister and my protector. No matter what.
