Charlie had calmed down before Tim arrived, but he started back up again when he walked through the door.
Though this was my apartment, I still figured I would give them some space, so I took Scruffy out for a walk while they talked it out. Besides, I really didn’t want to be there for all the dramatics. And if I had to be honest even further, I didn’t want to be around Tim after Charlie’s big revelation.
It really shouldn’t have mattered at all, but I was still reeling from it. Why didn’t Tim just tell me that himself? Why did he have to lie like that? Perhaps he thought I would give him more sympathy if I thought he was the one being dumped, instead of the other way around. After a while, my curiosity was starting to get the best of me, and I decided to head back to the apartment.
