Chapter twenty-one
The whole day went by quickly. And it was when night fell that I realized I had spent all day up in my room in tears.
A loud, sudden crash downstairs startled me; it was a gunshot. This life was full of surprises.
In fear, I forced my shaky legs to take me downstairs. I looked round and found my entire family on their knees. I mean this was the first time in my life I was being robbed.
When I stared at the robbers silently and fearfully, they raised their guns and aimed at me. And just to remind myself, I had no resistance now. I was mortal.
The painful part was that I recognized this clan sadly. The same ones that Marshall helped me beat up. I prayed to God they wouldn't recognize me because that was going to be very dreadful.
