At Florida

The next day the kids were in high spirits, they got ready quickly and went to the hospital, Carys dropped them at their nursery and was about to kiss good bye, she got a message from a mentor that she has to get ready for a surgery so she turned towards the babies and said Dhruv, Thara bye!! Mommy loves you and ran towards the elevator.

Dr. Adith and his friend Dr. Sara were walking past the nursery towards the cafeteria to grab some breakfast, when and it heard the names Dhruv and Thara, there was a stir in his heart, he tried to look towards the direction of the voice but Dr. Sara pulled him into the cafeteria as they were already late for work.

On their way to work Adith asked Sara “Do we have any new colleagues?”

“No idea Adith”, I have a surgery now, Dr. Rich just paged me, see you later and entered into the elevator.

Adith remembered the names Dhruv and Thara, when he was in college his sister was discussing about the baby names, Adith recommend the name Thara for his niece, his friend Carys who came to visit his newborn niece explained the meaning of the name Thara as a star and told then Dhruv also carries the same meaning and would be a nice name for twins too. All laughed at her imagination on twins but suggested different names and finally came up with Diya.

Adit missed Carys a lot, the names brought back his medical school memories. He tried to have a look at the kids but soon he received a text that his patient in the ICU needs help so he left without looking back.

Later in the afternoon Dr. Justin praised Dr. Carys for her excellent job at the OR on a critical patient.

Carys was happy, she thanked him, promised to do her best and went to check on her patients in the ICU, while she was on rounds , Dr. Rich paged her to come to his office, Carys moved towards the office and knocked softly on the door, someone opened the door, when Carys entered the office she was shocked to see the familiar face standing beside Dr.Rich.

Dr. Adit was also shocked to see Carys in Florida. When both of them were staring at each other Dr. Justin coughed lightly and asked “Seems like you guys knew each other?”

Dr. Adit smiled and shrugged “She is my junior in college” Dr. Richard and Dr. Justin raised their brows and Justin said “ Dr. Carys is a resident in neurology and I am her mentor, she did a great job today so I recommend you to discuss your problem about your patient in the ICU and come up with a solution soon and Carys your senior Dr. Adit is a cardiovascular surgeon, he has a critically ill patient in the ICU, please discuss with him and come up with the best solution to save his life.”

Carys nodded and said, sure Dr. Justin, then Dr. Richard said “so Dr. Justin and Dr. Adit, hope you have finished, can I have a minute with Dr. Carys before she joins you?”

Adit and Justin nodded, Adit said “Dr. Carys I'll be in the resident’s lounge” and left Dr. Rich's office.

Then Rich asked Carys “So how are you and the kids doing”?

Carys smiled and said “We are good, my kids are yet to get adapted to Florida.”

“I spoke with your dad; everything is fine over there your mom is safe but you are strictly advised not to contact her thorough any means until the case is over.”

“I understand Dr. Rich, thank you for calling my dad” Rich nodded and Carys left his office.

On the way to the lounge Carys felt some ambivalence towards Dr. Adith, she didn’t know how to face him, the memories of their past rushed into her brain, she couldn’t think clearly and felt breathless. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, she had faced a lot, her life was oppressive but she never let herself down she fought and worked hard to make her dreams come true but she never thought that her dream of meeting Adith would come true.

Carys entered the lounge and saw Adith standing near the window staring at the view outside, she cleared her throat and called “Adith”

Adith turned around, she was still beautiful and charming with flaw less skin like how she was six years ago but her bubbly and easily approachable character was missing, she seems to be tough and stronger. He wanted to scoop her in his arms hug and kiss her like crazy, but he knew he cannot do anything to her. He loved her so much but as they couldn’t keep up their promises with each other. He dug his hands into his pockets, smiled and asked “Carys how are you?”

Carys was looking at Adith, the most handsome guy in the college, her friend with whom she loved to hang out with and fell in love with him but never expressed her thoughts over a conversation but her body was more truthful and they ended up being in a relationship but never promised each other, they lived their life at the moment, when they knew it was the last day of being together as Adith finished his medical school, they couldn’t part themselves easily, they ended up with a crazy night, the moon was shining, the night was young and beautiful, their youth was overflowing with love, they slept together, they were so active from dusk to dawn, they never wanted to be apart they coiled themselves together and slept at 5am, endless pleasure and love made them feel blissful. On hearing Adith’s call, her, she smiled and nodded, “I am good”.

she crossed her hands below her breasts to control herself from hugging him, she wanted to break the high walls which she has built around her all these years and hold him and cry to out but she knew it's not the right time.
