Mated to Alpha Hunter

Chapter Four

Surprisingly the dinner actually went really well. Afterwards Ry and I showed them to their guest rooms since they were apparently staying the night. After showing them to their rooms Ry and I decided to head to the home theater.

“What are you going to do?” he asked as he put in my favorite movie, Fast 5.

“I honestly don’t know Ry. What am I gonna do?” I asked back.

Ry didn’t respond and I’m pretty sure I know why. There was nothing I could do that wouldn’t affect my pack and my family. But part of me also didn’t want to admit that I did want to leave with Huner.I mean he was my mate. I turned my attention back to the movie and we finished watching it. When it ended I got up and gave Ry a hug before going to bed. As I was hugging Ry goodnight I heard a loud growl and looked over at the doorway.

I wasn’t shocked to see Hunter, I mean who else would it be except my temperamental, possessive mate? I slowly let go of Ry and looked at Hunter.

“Can I help you?” I asked pointedly.

Hunter ignored me and addressed Ry “hands off my mate pup” Hunter growled as he walked towards me and pulled me away from Ry.

“Goodnight” I mindlinked Ry as I turned and left the in-home theater.

Hunter followed me out and walked with me to my room. I didn’t even acknowledge Hunter as I walked into my room and shut the door. I got ready for bed, taking a nice long, hot bath and got into my bed. Except there was one problem… I couldn't sleep.

The next morning after a restless night I woke up and got ready for the day. I got dressed in an army green romper and some black tennis shoes. As I walked out of my room I ran into none other than Hunter. He was waiting outside of my door. I asked him when he was leaving and he responded he wasn’t.

“What do you mean you aren’t leaving?” I asked, shocked.

“Don’t sound too excited. I am sending my Beta and Third, Gavin and Troy, back to my pack to watch over so I can spend your, now, 9 days with you and then we will leave together.” he responded.

“Oh… um… okay.” I said not knowing how to respond.

I decided the conversation was over and walked past him down to the kitchen to get breakfast. Unsurprisingly he followed me.

When I walked into the kitchen Ry was already there. I decided on making pancakes and walked over to the cupboards to pull out what I needed. Ry and Hunter sat a seat apart at the breakfast bar and just watched as I moved around the kitchen and made breakfast. I made enough for the three of us and even made some sausage to go with it. This was definitely going to be an interesting 9 days I thought to myself as we ate in silence. We finished breakfast and Ry helped me clean up while Hunter took a meeting with Gavin and Troy.

When Hunter was done with his meeting he came back in the kitchen. I looked back and forth between Ry and Hunter who were glaring at each other. I made a rash decision to settle this right now. I slammed by fist down on the counter and yelled

“OMG you two would you stop glaring at each other! This is the last thing I need right now! I do not need my cousin and my mate glaring and growling at each other all the time!!!”

They both looked at me and apologized. Well I guess that settles that.

I walked out of the room and as usual Hunter followed me. I really need to figure out how to get out of going to his pack with him but still maintain the peace between our packs. This was going to be very difficult.

The rest of my 9 days went very fast and before I knew it, it was time for Hunter and I to leave for his pack. 

Over the 9 days Hunter and I grew closer. He was able to meet my friends and he didn’t mind spending time with my family with me. I felt better about leaving with him. Not 100% but better.

Ry had helped me finish packing last night and it was going to be a hard goodbye. I felt better about leaving with Hunter. We had actually gotten along pretty well these last few days. It was still a little rough and I still didn’t really want to leave but I was doing it for my pack. I had to protect my people against a possible threat from Hunters pack. Hunter informed me last night that before we left he would need to finalize the treaty with my uncle. Little did he know I also had some business to finish up with them too. Hunter still didn’t know that I am an Alpha Female, I didn’t want to give him even more leverage against my pack. Because I was still the Alpha Female I had to give up my place for the alphaship so my cousin could become the next Alpha when he turns 21. Giving up my place for the alphaship would not affect my membership or rank in the pack, it would just make Riley the next Alpha and therefore more powerful. I would still be a member of the pack until I was fully mated to Hunter and I will always have Alpha rank because I was born with it in my blood thanks to my father..

At 9am I finally was able to free myself from Hunter long enough to perform the ritual to pass the alphaship onto Riley. It was very emotional for me. I always hoped my mate would be a member of the Blue Crescent pack so I could become Alpha and stay with my family. But unfortunately that wasn’t the case.

“I, Alpha Female, Isabella Russo, daughter of the late Alpha Mikael Russo of the Blue Crescent pack hereby denounce myself as future Alpha. Riley Russo, son of Antonio Russo, will now be future Alpha” I announced as I started to feel the alphaship leave my presence. 

I looked over at Ry and saw the alphaship hit him. It suited him well. I know I made the decision and one day when we turn 21 Ry will make a great Alpha. I hope Hunter lets me visit.

With that we all head upstairs so Hunter can finalize the peace treaty with Anotonio and Ry. I didn’t have to be a part of this meeting thankfully. I don’t know why but honestly I don’t care I get to use this time to say goodbye to my aunt.

I found my aunt sitting in the den and approached her with tears already starting in both of our eyes. I walked up to her speechlessly and hugged her. What do you say to the woman who is like a mother to you the last time you may ever see her. So I didn’t say anything. I just let her hold me for what little time we had left together. Before I knew it Hunter entered the room and announced it was time to leave. I held on to my aunt a little longer before I whispered in her ear that I would love her and miss her. Next, I walked up to my uncle and hugged him and said the same to him. Finally, I walked up to Ry. This would probably be the hardest goodbye. He was always with me, always by my side. He was supposed to be my Beta and now I was leaving and he was going to be Alpha. I held back tears as I hugged him and said goodbye. He mindlinked me as I let go and said that even though the pack mind link wouldn’t work our parabatai mindlink might and we should hold onto hope for that. After saying our goodbyes everybody walked outside to get into the car. Just as I was about to step into the car my uncle stopped me by saying

“Isabella one more thing. I am sorry to do this but….”
