Chapter Seven

Alpha Hunter’s POV

When I walked out of the bathroom I couldn’t believe what I saw. My mate was lying on the floor in the make-shift bed I made out of blankets and pillows. Did she really think I was going to make her sleep on the floor? I picked her up off the floor and carefully set her down on my bed tucking her in.

Isabella’s POV

I woke the next morning bright and early to find myself in a bed. When I sat up I noticed that I fell asleep on the floor that was now occupied by a sleeping Hunter. He must have carried me to the bed after I fell asleep. I slowly got out of the bed and quietly moved towards the bathroom, careful not to wake up Hunter. I successfully made it to the bathroom and got ready for the day. It was starting to get chilly as Hunters pack is further north than my old one so I pulled on a pair of leggings and a sweatshirt. WhenI opened the bathroom door I noticed that Hunter was still sleeping. I quietly moved past him and exited the bedroom. I went downstairs to try and find the kitchen to make some breakfast. 

On my way to try and find the kitchen I ran into Hunter’s Beta, Gavin. Gavin stopped and just stared at me. I had no clue what to say so I didn’t say anything and just moved right past him. Gavin followed me through the mansion and into the kitchen.

“Does Hunter know you are down here?”

“No.” I responded truthfully.

“Is he even up?”

I took a second to think and then replied “No.”

“Hm” was all I got back.

I started looking through the cupboards trying to find something that looked good to make myself for breakfast, with Gavin still just watching me. I pulled out some eggs and sausage and was about to c***k the first egg when I got startled and dropped the egg

“You know we have cooks for that type of stuff” Hunter said entering the room startling me.

“That’s nice. I prefer to cook my own meals.” I said while cleaning up the mess and grabbing a new egg to c***k. Once Hunter entered the room Gavin left, I’m assuming to go do whatever it was he was doing before he ran into me. Hunter came up behind me to get closer to see what I was doing. After I finished cooking Hunter and I sat down to eat.

While eating Hunter asked “Why didn’t you wake me when you got up?”

“I didn’t know I was required to. I thought I was free to move around as I please.” I said with an attitude.

“You are. Just don’t leave the house without me.”

“What are we doing today?” I questioned.

“I have a lot of pack business to tend to since I have been gone for so long. So you have the day to yourself. Again, don’t leave the house.” He waited for my acknowledgment to what he said before getting up and leaving the room to tend to his pack business.

I cleaned up the dishes and decided to take a look around the mansion. I found an in-home theater even bigger than the one at my old house.
