Reclaim

Lily cried out in agony as she clenched the sheets and pushed with all of her might, vision blurring as she felt herself tearing open. "Keep pushing your Majesty! I see the head!", the Royal Pack doctor exclaimed. "I can't!", Lily cried as she panted and tears spilled over. Her mate and Alpha King, Richard, clutched her hand desperate to give her his strength as he stroked back her dark hair off her sweaty forehead. Lily gritted her teeth and pushed will all of her force screaming with piercing agony as she gripped Richard's hand nearly breaking it. The door abruptly swung open, Richard glared at his beta Seth, Seth sputtered "The palace is under attack Alpha", screams of terror could now be heard echoing throughout the palace mingling with the Luna's screams of agony with her final push. Richard sprang into a defensive stance protecting his Luna and newborn pup, "Who!" Richard boomed. "Rouges", Seth eerily stated before he turned to run into battle. The doctor thrust the newborn prince into the nurse's arms as she frantically whispered that they must prepare to care for the wounded as she waited for the King to make his orders. Richard had a wild look of panic in his eyes as he looked down at his Queen exhausted, panting, and her deep blue eyes fluttering closed against her will from the exertion of the painful birth of their only child and heir to the Royal Pack. Richard knew he had to protect his pack as king, he could hear the sounds of battle growing louder with each passing second but he had to protect his mate and heir. "Go" he ordered the doctor. Richard scooped up his Luna bridal style, "put your arms around my neck my love, I will keep us safe" he vowed as she weakly tried to lift her arms to clutch around his neck. Richard turned to the nurse, "Rosa, follow me" the nurse clutched the bundled newborn protectively to her chest as he cried, she bowed her head and followed. Richard ran down the palace hall with Rosa close behind desperately searching for a safe escape to hide his Luna and his heir. A guard was seen running towards them, "take the Queen" he ordered the guard as he briefly clutched her closer into his chest not wanting to let her go, his eyes bore into Lily's and kissed the top of her head before passing her into the arms of the guard. Richard kissed the top of his son's head still in Rosa's trembling arms, "Protect them and bring them to safety" Richard ordered the guard as he ran in the opposite direction, running towards the sounds of terror and battle to protect and lead his pack. **** When he reached the source of the sounds, he saw the battle was bloody and much worse then he imagined, bodies of his royal guard lay dead in the courtyard. The palace was under attack by hundreds of rogues, an army of rogues, and they had the element of surprise to attack the well trained royal pack guards and warriors. "Get the children to safety!" Richard boomed over the sound of chaos. How had so many rogues come together to attack the palace, they were leaderless, Richard thought as he quickly scanned the bloody scene and realized this was a battle not in his favor, too many royal pack members lay dead and they were outnumbered, their only hope now was for the nearby packs to come to their aid. Richard quickly shifted into his massive black wolf form, he was the largest of all the werewolves, and he sprang into action attacking the rogues knowing he would fight until his last breath to protect the royal pack. For the briefest moment he allowed himself to picture his mate and his heir, he had not even had the chance to hold his son, and he sent a silent prayer to the moon goddess to protect them and keep them alive. Richard made eye contact with his beta Seth and ordered him through their mind link to go to the Blood Moon pack for reinforcements, Seth bowed in his wolf form to the king before ripping out the throat of a rogue and running from the battle to the Blood Moon pack. **** The guard ran through the palace with the queen in his arms towards the secret tunnel made as a means of escape for the pack's most vulnerable, "Hurry" he pleaded as glanced back at Rosa who was trying desperately to keep up with the guard, "Get behind me, quickly" he ordered Rosa as three rogues approached, two were shifted into their wolf forms, blood dripping from their canines, the third stood tall and broad in his human form, half shifted with his claws retracted staring menacingly at the vulnerable group. The guard put the queen down as she gathered all of her strength, adrenaline coursing through her body, ready to protect her newborn son as she moved behind the guard and stood in front of Rosa, shielding her from view. The three rogues stalked closer to the group, eyeing them as prey. Lily turned her head to gaze lovingly at her sweet, innocent son stealing the briefest moment to take him in and whisper to Rosa peeling her eyes away from her son, "Take Zane and run, don't look back", the queen quietly ordered. Rosa's eyes widened in horror as she starred into the queen's commanding eyes darkening as the queen prepared to shift in her weakened state, Rosa quickly turned and ran for their lives. Rosa did not look back as she heard the queen howling in pain in the distance. They tried to hold the three rogues off long enough for Rosa to escape with the heir, Zane, who had stopped crying as she pushed herself to run faster then ever before despite the burning in her lungs. Rosa reached the secret tunnel that led to the nearest pack. She placed Zane onto the ground as she quickly shifted into her wolf form and picked up the bundle in her teeth so she could run faster from the palace and to the safety of the blood moon pack.
