Chapter 8

937 Words
Over the course of the week, I woke up with more dreadful headaches than the last. I spent more time in bed than I could ever imagine. Even for an ati-social like me it was becoming unbearable. The only escape I got from the pain is with my mistery dream guy. I found myself wanting to go back to sleep everytime I wake up just to be with him. Even though he doesn't say much other than "Fate". At times it seems like he said mate. Suzi and Mathew seem to be disagreeing a lot about something. I have no energy to eavesdrop since I'm always tired.  It's been a week since my headaches left me bed ridden. Today I feel much better and I can get out of bed. I've been so couped up in the house that I just want to get some fresh air. It's Friday, the park would be mostly deserted. I got out of bed, took a quick shower and went to the kitchen. I found Mathew drinking coffee. "Morning. "I said as I walked in . "Morning princess. How are you feeling today?  " he said.  "I'm fine thanks. Where is Suzi? " I said.  "He went out for some errands. " "OK. Is it ok if I go to the park for some fresh air?"I asked.  "Yeah it OK. Be careful though." "Always I'm. " I said as I walked over to him for a hug. I grabbed my keys and went out.  I got to the park and took a walk , I got some ice cream and went to sit by the swing. I got so lost in the motions of the swing and suddenly felt a sense of Deja Vu. A memory of me and a young boy playing at a park. He seemed to be a bit older than me but wasn't arrogant about it. We seemed to be having so much fun that I couldn't help but smile. I wondered where the boy was, who he's with or if he got a new friend.  My thoughts were interrupted by the rustling of leaves behind me. I look around but didn't see a thing. I got that horrid feeling of being watched. I looked around me for anything suspicious and saw man in all black, leaning on black SUV. I got shivers down my back. They weren't the good kind of shivers. They were the " get the hell out of this place. " kind of shivers. I got up from the swing and ran towards my car. The guy stepped away from the car and walked towards me . As he got closer his eyes started to glow. I got to my car before he could reach me and quickly drove off. I looked back through the mirror and saw that he was following me. I took out my phone and called aunt. She answered on the third ring. " Sweetheart, I heard you went out. Are you sure... " I cut here off before she could finish.  "Aunt, someone is following me. " I said.  "Who is following you? " she asked.  "I don't know. Some guys with glowing eyes. " as I said it, I realised how ridiculous it must sound. I was beginning to think I was hallucinating. That thought was dismissed  when they rammed into my car.  "Oh goddess. What color are they? Their eyes, what color are they? " she asked.  "They are red I think. " I said.  "Oh no. They found us. " I could hear Mathew in the background asking what was wrong. "They found us. " she answered. " What do we do? She's not ready yet. " I could hear the panic in her voice but I didn't know why she was panicking. Mathew took the phone away from her. " Princess, where are you? "  "I'm on Seventh street. What's going on? " I said.  " I'll tell you when you get home. Drive faster, don't let them catch you. " " OK. But what if they catch me when I get out of the car? " "They won't harm you if you are in the yard. " he said.  " OK. " "Be careful. " "Always am. "  "Although I'm not sure I was this time. " I said after he hung up. I held on tighter to the wheel. My palms where sweaty and my knuckles where almost white. As Mathew promised, the moment I got into the yard they stopped chasing me. Suzie opened the door and I ran in. She gave me a hug and we looked through the window as the car turned and drove away. My body was shaking as the adrenaline wore off.  " What the heck just happened? " I asked when there was no indication that they were going to tell me.  " Um... " Suzi said. She bit her bottom lip, something she did when ever she was nervous. I looked at Mathew and she was also doing the same thing. "Will someone tell me what the f**k is going on. " I said. This time my voice was a bit harsh. I saw both Mathew and Suzi flinch. " I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap at you. I'm just scared. "  " We understand. " the said in unison.  "I'll tell you. " Suzi said. Before she could tell me I felt a sharp pain in my head. My vision started to fail and before I knew it I was falling. I saw Mathew trying to catch me before I hit my head. I head their voices as they tried to wake me but they were faint . It was like I was underwater. Then there was darkness.
