Unexpected union

Chapter 2

I wake up from my dream a little bit disoriented. It's at moments like this that I feel close to my mom and miss her as well. I never knew my parents, they died when I was still little. All I have left from them is a picture of us on the day I was born and a necklace that belonged to my mom. I look at the time on my phone and realised I was late for my training. I got out of bed and quickly ran to the gym. I was fifteen minutes late, which meant an extra set of fifteen push ups. I did the first set of hundred sit ups followed by the push ups. After that  I went to the treadmill and ran until uncle Mathew came in. "Morning princess."he said. 

"Morning. " I said as I walked over to my sparring gear and joined him on the mat. "Ready? " he asked. 

"As I'll ever be. "  we started circling each other waiting for who will attack first. He threw the first punch, which I ducked and I landed one on his stomach. I threw the second one but he saw it coming and stopped it. 

We went at it like that for a while. Me on the offensive and him on the defensive. We switched positions a couple of times. Until I got the lead. I looked over at the clock and it read 06:30. I'm supposed to be at school by 08:00  and it takes fifteen minutes to get there. I was distracted for a bit which gave Mathew the chance to throw a punch. Thank the gods for my quick reflexes I saw it coming and dodged it. He was a little bit surprised which allowed me to attack and bring him to his knees. I raised my arms in victory and said, "And  the winner is.... Rory!!!!! And the crowd goes wild."

He let out a small chuckle as he laid on his back on the mat. "You are getting stronger by the day. Soon I won't be able to catch up with you."

"Are you getting slow old man? " I asked in mock horror. 

"Seems like I am. Go get ready for school ,you don't want to be late. "

"Are you coming? " I asked. 

"Go on I'll catch up. I'm still catching my breath. " he replied. 

"OK. " I said as I walked to my room. I looked at the time, I still had an hour before I have to leave for school. It takes me only a few minutes to get ready. I decided to take my time in the shower and let the hot water relax my muscles. 

After I got out. I dried my body and tied a towel on my head to get the last drops of water out of my hair. I'm not the dressing up kind of girl, so thank God our school requires we wear a uniform or, dark jeans and a hoodie was all I'll be wearing. I tied my raven hair into a pony tail. And went downstairs for breakfast. 

I got into the kitchen and found aunt Suzi making breakfast for Mathew. "Good morning princess" she said when she saw me. 

"Good morning Suzi." I said as I walked over to her and gave her a hug. 

"How was practice? " she asked. 

"It was great. " I said. 

"That's great." 

We chatted for a bit while I ate my food. I looked the time for the last time ,I got up and took my plate to the sink. "I better get going if I don't want to be  late. " I said. 

"OK, have a good day. "

"You too. " I said and I gave her a hug . I took my school bag, my phone and keys and walked to the door. 

"Be careful ." she said as soon as I walked out the door. 

" Always am. " I said. It was an ongoing thing for us. She always waited till I was out the door to tell me that and my reply was always the same and if we don't see each other when I leave I always got a text. I got to my car and drove to school.
