Haru’s Point of View
After a while, Haru stood up and went to lay down on the sofa. His back was hurting and truth be told, he was tired and sleepy. He set an alarm for an hour as he slowly sat down on the sofa and put his head on the cushion. He looked at Rin one last time confirming that she was still asleep and then closed his eyes.
*one hour later*
Haru was woken up by his phone vibrating near him. He had set the alarm to the vibration mode so that he does not wake up Rin. He turned off the alarm and slowly stood up from his sleeping position. He sat on the sofa and rubbed his eyes. He was still tired but he did his best to wake himself up.
Soon after that, Haru was about to get up and walk to the balcony when he heard someone breathing heavily. He looked up towards Rin’s bed. As soon as he saw her, his eyes widened. She was clutching her chest and then she suddenly started sobbing.
Haru was not sure what he should be doing. He knew that he wanted her to know that he will be there for her no matter what. However, he was not sure how he was supposed to do it. It was like he was frozen and no matter what he could not unfreeze himself.
He was continuously gazing at her but his brain was functioning at a very low rate. He watched her slowly wipe away her tears and then she turned her head towards him.
The moment he saw her looking at him, all his nervousness and anxiety faded away. He still did not know what he should be doing but he felt calmer. He knew that he just wanted her to be happy. And that he will go with the flow.
“Hi.” Haru smiled as he spoke.
Rin also smiled.
As soon as he saw her smile, Haru was sure that that was what he wanted. He was seeing her smile after a while and his heart just melted.
Then Haru quickly recovered and asked, “How are you feeling now?”
Rin replied, “I feel much better now” and again smiled at him.
Haru’s heart was overflowing with happiness. He smiled and replied, “That is good. Are you hungry? Want me to get you something?”
Rin thought about it. She then replied, “Not right now. I want to ask you something. Can I?”
Haru knew it might be related to what had happened two days ago. He nodded.
Rin continued, “Isn’t there anything you want to ask me about what I did?”
Haru looked at her as soon as she finished speaking. Her eyes were looking at her hands. Her hands were fidgeting. Haru understood that she was not ready for it. He had already decided that he was not going to push her into saying these kinds of stuff. So he stood up and walked towards her. When he reached near her, he slowly touched her head.
She looked up at him and Haru smiled at her.
He spoke, “Not right now. You can tell me when you are ready. And until then, I will be with you. Always okay?”
Rin nodded.
