Her Saviour

Chapter 49

*After a while*

After Haru finished feeding her, Rin was leaning on her bed.

Just after that a nurse came into the room. She checked Rin’s blood pressure and her heart rate. Then she asked Rin, “Are you feeling okay? You have been asleep for forty eight hours.”

For a moment, Haru noticed that Rin looked shocked after hearing this. However, she replied, "Yes, I am fine."

As soon as he heard her say it, Haru was worried because her voice was so soft. He heard what she said but her voice was demonstrating the opposite. He looked at the nurse and she also looked worried.

The nurse looked at Haru and asked, “Did you give her some food?”

Haru replied, “Yes I did. I fed her some soup. After a while, I will feed her something solid to eat. Is that fine?”

The nurse looked back at Rin and smiled, “Yes that is fine. Press the button near the bed if anything happens. I will come back in an hour to change her IV drip.” Then she left.                                                          Haru made a mental note about it and looked at Rin. She looked sleepy but he wanted to confirm if she wanted anything so he asked.

“Rin? Do you want anything? I can get you anything you want.”

Haru watched as Rin looked at him and spoke, “Nope. I do not think that I want anything. By the way, the nurse said that I have been asleep for forty eight hours. How long have you been here? Judging by your face, you look like you have not slept well.” 

Her voice was still soft but Haru heard it all. He was flattered that she was worried about him but he wanted her to focus on getting better.

Haru smiled at her and whispered.

“You do not have to worry about that. Just get better Rin.”

Then he stayed near her on the stool as she fell asleep. Rin was not wrong though. He could barely sleep the past two nights. He wanted to be near her if anything happened.
