Chapter 48

Haru’s Point of View

As soon as he entered the room and kept the basket on the table, the nurse came in to check on her. She smiled at Haru and spoke, “She should wake up soon.”

Haru nodded.

She continued, “Everything is fine. Give her something to eat when she wakes up, okay?”

Haru replied, “Okay, I will do that.” He smiled at the nurse and watched her walk out of the room.

He heard a noise so he turned towards the source of it. As soon as he turned, he saw Rin raising her hand and putting it over her eyes. It did not take a lot of time for Haru to figure out that the light was bright for her. Even though he knew, he still asked.

“Is the light too bright? Wait, let me turn it off, and then I will open the curtain."

Haru turned off the light and opened the curtain a little bit so that the room was not completely dark. After that, Haru saw her trying to get up. It looked like it was hard for her so Haru offered to help.

“Let me help you up”

After Haru helped Rin sit up on the bed, he remembered what the nurse told him. So he opened the container with soup after picking it up from the basket.

He then spoke, “Rin. Here is some soup. Please eat?”

He watched as Rin nodded and thanked him. She tried to raise her hand and pick up the spoon. However, the IV drip that was put in her hand was making it hard to pick up the spoon.

So Haru spoke “Here, let me feed you.”

She nodded. She looked so frail that Haru was starting to worry that she might break. He was glad that she was conscious now but he hoped she would feel better soon too.

She opened her mouth as Haru started feeding her.
