Haru’s Point of View
After his talk with his grandfather, Haru stayed with him in his house until there was around an hour left to return home. Since he shared everything with his grandfather about what was happening, he thought that he would be better with him than somewhere alone.
He remembered how he was itching to just stand up and walk around the classroom during the one class he attended after the precaution of vision. Even though he gave his all to keep sitting on the chair, he could feel the electric-like feeling up from his legs. It was extremely uncomfortable and he could not keep it out. It distracted both his mind and his body.
Haru flinched after that flashback.
Haru and his grandfather spent the time talking about what was happening with the destined person and vision. His grandfather learned that the person Haru has to save was named “Rin”. He also knew that she was around Haru’s age. After that, they talked about how Haru’s studies are going. They talked a little about how Haru’s father used to be in the past or whatever his grandfather could remember about it. They also ate together and laughed.
And now, it was time that Haru decided to go back home. He decided to go home a little early because he wanted to smoke before reaching home. It was calming being around his grandfather but he also needed to smoke. So he stood up from the sofa and prepared to tell his grandfather that he will be going.
They were in his grandfather’s study. The bookshelves and the furniture were dark brown in color and according to his grandfather, it was from Haru’s great grandfather’s time. His grandfather was sitting on the rocking chair near the window. He did not want to sit on the sofa. He was looking outside of the window at the flowers planted.
Haru, after noticing his grandfather’s gaze was outside the window, started walking towards his grandfather slowly. After he was near him, he slowly reached his hand out and touched his grandfather’s shoulder gently. No sooner he had done that, his grandfather looked at him.
Haru spoke, “It’s time for me to go grandpa.”
His grandfather pulled Haru down and gave him a hug.
Haru hugged him back.
"Okay, dear. Go safe. Take care. And remember, everything will be fine." His grandfather said slowly and pulled apart.
After Haru also pulled apart, his grandfather smiled at him.
Haru smiled back and waved goodbye.
“I will come again. Take care of your health grandpa.”
His grandfather just nodded.
Haru walked outside of the study and into the hallway towards the main door. He saw the auntie near the door brushing the dust off the table which had a flower vase.
She turned her head around to the direction Haru was coming from and smiled. She spoke, “Are you leaving dear?”
“Yes auntie” Haru replied and smiled.
Haru opened the door and the auntie was behind him to close the door. He waved good bye to the auntie and waited until she did the same so that he did not look rude. After she closed the door, Haru opened the door of his car and got in. He checked the time. It was 4 pm. Two hours had passed since the time he had agreed to meet her. However, he could not risk meeting her. Haru thought of a place so that he can go smoke. Smoking rooms felt suffocating so he never liked one. There was this one place he had gone several times before. He decided to drive there. He put the keys in and started the car.
He carefully drove out of his grandfather’s parking space and out the gate. The place he was heading to at the moment was a place that he had first gone when he started getting visions. It was not very far from his home but it was secluded. He had named it "CR", the acronym for calm and relaxed, which the place made him feel.
It had been quite a while since he had last been there. He had been busy with school and now college work. When he first joined college, he thought he would have more free time than he had during the time he was studying in high school. However, Haru realized that it was totally naïve of him to think that. With assignments and study materials assigned by the lecturers, it alone was enough to take up most of his time. Additionally, he also had to do his best to save Rin. “Saving Rin” was not a waste of time for him though. This was the first time in years that he was determined to this length to do something. Well, a person’s life was at stake. He knew and understood well that he did not have the luxury to fool around.
With these thoughts, Haru reached CR. He called it CR in his mind but he was cringing that he named it that. Well, it was named by a 17-year-old boy. He parked his car, stopped it, and took out his keys. He put the keys in his pocket as he was getting out of the car. He leaned on the car and took out a cigarette from his other pocket and lit it.
He inhaled the smoke. His thoughts started to wonder about Rin. He truly felt guilty that he could not go meet her nor inform her about his absence. He checked the time. It was 4:24 pm.
He thought, “Would Rin still be waiting for me?”
However, he wished the opposite. Since he would not be going to see her, he did not want her to wait for a long time. Additionally, he did not want her to be infuriated at him because he still needed to get to know her and save her. He was in a complex situation and he had no idea how to explain it to Rin.
He hoped that Rin would still be willing to talk to him tomorrow. He really needed to ask for her contact number so that it would be easier if he needs to get in touch with her. The environment was indeed extremely calm and relaxing. Even though Haru had worries concerning Rin, he felt calm. This made him capable of thinking logically about it. He checked the time. It was 4:30 pm. So he threw the cigarette and stepped on it. He opened the car door and put the keys in. He started the car and drove back home. He reached in about 5 minutes.
He parked the car, got out of the car, and locked it. He walked to the door and rang the doorbell. Soon his mother came and opened the door.
“Welcome home sweetie” his mother greeted him.
“Hi mom”, Haru said as he stepped into the house.
Haru went to his room to change and freshen up. He still had some time until his father reached home. He locked the door behind him and started searching for comfortable clothes from his wardrobe. He took off his clothes and then changed into those he picked. He went into the bathroom and brushed his teeth. He then came back and wiped his mouth with the towel. He picked up his cologne and sprayed some on himself.
Then until his father came home and his mother tells him to come out of the room, he decided to work on his assignments. He took out the laptop from his bag and went to sit on the chair and put his laptop on the study table. He opened the laptop and started it. He selected the folder of the module he had a paper to write. He then started typing.
After thirty minutes had passed, there was a knock on his bedroom door.
He heard his mother say, “Haru sweetie, your father has washed up and changed. Come to the living room okay?”
He replied, “Okay, I will come mom.”
He remembered to press Ctrl + S on the laptop and then unlocked the door. He walked out of the room and into the living room. His father was sitting on the sofa with a cup of tea on the table. As soon as he was near the sofa, his mother asked if he wanted tea. Haru nodded and sat on the other sofa facing his father.
"Good evening Father," Haru said.
His father replied without looking at him, “Good evening”.
They sat in silence for a while. Haru's mother brought tea for Haru and left for the kitchen to make dinner. As soon as she left, his father looked at him while sipping his tea.
Then he spoke, “So Haru, I think it is clear and you know that what I want to talk with you right now is about vision.”
Haru nodded.
His father continued, "Grandfather told you about the history, right? Is there anything you want to specifically ask me?"
Haru spoke, “Yes father. Grandpa said that you have had repeating visions. I think that is what is happening with me right now. Can you guide me through it?”
