Chapter 59: The condition of Rin

Rin’s Point of view

Rin felt her father’s glare. She understood that this was something which made him really furious.

After a while of silence, her father spoke.

“Rin. He is an outsider. This is a matter of our family and we should not let an outsider be a part of this.”

This infuriated Rin. She could not keep her anger in. However, she spoke calmly.

“Oh really? If Haru is an outsider, so is the woman who is behind you.” Then she lifted her head up and looked at her father. She watched as his eyes widen. Even from her bed, she could feel his anger flaring up from across the room. She looked at that woman and she was also red with anger.

However, Rin was not going to give up. She was still hurt and angered by the fact that her father bought home a woman to replace her mother. Even if he was never affected by her mother’s death, he should have just bought her home and said that he will marry her. He should not have mentioned that “she” was going to be her new mother.

Her father spoke, “What part of ‘he is an outsider’ don’t you understand?” Then while pointing to the woman behind him he continued, “And she is not an outsider. I told you I am marrying her.”

Rin took some deep breaths. Her father was getting on her nerves so bad. But she spoke calmly. Something inside her told her to be calm, otherwise, she will probably cry and she knew it.

"Yes, you told me you are marrying her. But you haven't. This means that she is not part of our so called family yet." She could see her father opening his mouth to say something. She figured it would be to defend the woman.

Before he started to say anything, Rin continued.

“So if you want to talk, just talk right now with everyone in the room. If you want Haru to go out, she goes out too.” She said pointing to the woman behind her father.

She looked at him. He let out a sigh and then turned around. Rin heard him asking the woman to come outside. They left the room.

Rin let out a sigh and then looked at Haru. She spoke, “Sorry Haru for all of this drama. If he comes inside alone, can you go out for a little bit?”

Haru smiled at her and spoke, “Of course I can go. You just have to ask. And don’t worry about the drama. Everything will be alright.” Then he came near her and touched her head.

After he did that, Rin looked up at him and smiled. She said, “Thank you so much Haru. For everything.” And she meant it. He was there for her when even her father was not there.

Just then her father came back into the room. He came in alone. So Rin looked at Haru and gestured at him with her head. He nodded after getting the message and then left the room.

Then Rin let out a sigh and looked at her father. She spoke, “So what did you wanted to talk about?”

He walked towards her and sat on the stool near her bed. He spoke.

“Why did you just walk off the day I told you I will be marrying her? Why do you hate her?”

Rin took a deep breath and thought, “Oh my god. Is he really this dense? He does not know why I walked off?”

Rin started speaking.

“First of all, I do not hate her.”

Her father gave her a look that clearly said 'if you do not hate her then why are you doing all of this?'

Rin continued, “You can marry anyone you want. After all, mom is dead and you did not have the slightest care. You did not care at a...”

She was cut off by her father.

“What are you saying? What do you mean that I did not care?”

Rin shot him a glare.

She started speaking again, “Yes you did not care. If you cared, you would be by her side when she was ill. Were you there with her?”

Her father remained silent.

She spoke, “I thought so. Let me continue. You can marry whoever you want to. I do not care. But I have a condition.”

Her father looked at her and asked, “What is it?”

She spoke, “Leave that house. My mom lived there and I do not want you bringing another woman to the house that my mother made into a home. And never say that she is my new mother because she will never be.”
